it’s 3:48 am and i’m on the verge of a mental breakdown :(

basically, my son has always co-slept at night and napped in my bed during the day. totally my fault for starting the bad habit, and i’m kicking myself for it trust me! anyways, yesterday he was taking a nap and woke up silently, crawled right off the bed, i felt horrible! (please no rude remarks, i feel bad enough as it is). i took him to the dr. to get checked out, and asked her how i can get him out of my bed & into his crib. she said do CIO.

it’s sooo hard for me to hear jordan cry, because he rarely ever does, so when he does cry i know he’s really upset. he’s just such a happy baby and of course no mother likes to hear their LO cry! anyways, i stayed strong and stuck to my guns. problem is, he kept sitting up crying for me, then would get so exhausted he’d either fall asleep sitting up w/ his legs hanging out (like he’s in jail, lol it did look pretty funny), or he’d fall asleep sitting up and then fall nack and bang his head, poor guy! i went in a few times to lay him down after he fell asleep but he woke up only to do the cycle again. ahh what do i do?! i feel so helpless :( but his safety is my biggest concern and he’s no longer safe in my bed. i just nursed him, gave him a sippy of water, and he’s finally back to sleep.. thank god. ok, so i guess i wanna know how do i fix the falling asleep sitting up thing, also how long did it take your baby to get used to sleeping in their crib (after some time of cosleeping). thanks and sry this is so long, i’m a wreck tonight :(
wow. seriously “K”, i’ve disliked every answer you’ve ever given (to myself & others!), so just remember my username & never click and answer my questions. your answer was completely irrelevant to the actual question. i never solicited your advice on my parenting style, so please keep it to yourself ok. i know you’re supermom and all, but it doesn’t make me a bad parent if i opt to try different methods than you. and CIO doesn’t mean i don’t care, or that i’m a “bitter mother”. you’re the bitter one if you ask me.

————————————–

i’m doing CIO, and sticking w/ it. oh well if you don’t agree. all i asked for is suggestions on how to get him to lie down to sleep instead of sitting up, and how long it took for your LO to start self-soothing after doing my method. please stick w/ the question, thanks! :)

oh, and i did have bed rails on my bed. that’s what he went over yesterday and face-planted. bedrails are not intended to keep an infant safely sleeping on a bed.

I had a period, after using provera to have a period, that started December 20th, ended normal, and started having sex the day it ended for a few days, Multiple times, (sorry TMI) and I am wondering if anyone has had an early preg symptoms? I noticed my breats feel tender, weird cramping in my lower abdomin (uterine area) tired alot, and two days last week i felt like i was running a fever but no other symptoms. I have been preg before, but since august no period till december after using provera. So is it all in my head? or maybe hormones from the provera still?

I am 7 weeks along in my first pregancy, and am feeling no morning sickness. I’ve had other symptoms, but no sickness. Im actually feeling the best I’ve ever felt! I seem to have alot of energy (most of the time) It just concerns me b/c supposubly morning sickness is much healthier (thats what i’ve heard). What could be some possible culprits? Should I be worried at all, or just enjoy?

To water birth or not?

So I want to do research on a water birth. I have seen so many shows on it, but I am not sure where to actually start searching. My fiance doesn’t want me to even think of it because to him its gross. But I want to have the baby in the least amount of stress. Any opinions?

I have been married to my dearest husband for 10 years. We are a childless couple. I come from big family. My late mother advised me that having a baby was not an ultimate goal in my marriage and there are many childless couple in the world enjoying their marriage life. Do you think so?

First, I am a first-time mother of a wonderful, funny, adorable 7 month old baby boy. We began by breastfeeding and cosleeping. Due to various reasons, I decided to go ahead and crib train him around 5 months. I work fulltime and so I couldn’t keep up with the breastfeeding – the main reason why we coslept.

So, already knowing I was totally against Ferber, I decided to read the good night, sleep tight sleep solution book that advocates putting them down while they are still awake but drowsy. I picked up on the setting a good routine and now my little one wakes at 7:30 (like clockwork) and usually takes 3 thirty minutes naps a day. He is usually always fed, bathed and in bed between 7:00 and 7:30. But now, the lay down while still drowsy thing doesn’t work and he’s been getting up for two hours at a time anywhere between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. So I’ve started rocking him back to sleep. Except it takes like 20 minutes or more to get him back to sleep or we fight for a good hour early in the morning.

I guess I’m just so frustrated one, because I’m not getting alot of sleep but really, I kindof feel like a failure because EVERYTHING I read says put them to sleep while they’re drowsy or you’re gonna regret it later or letting them soothe themselves to sleep builds self-confidence or I’m creating a negative sleep association or bad habit if I rock them to sleep. I mean, really?!? What do people think people BEFORE the internet did when they’re kids wouldn’t go to sleep, just lay them there and let them scream??

Is there ANYONE else that feels that way or that still rocks their kids to sleep? Or more specifically, has anyone’s kids around 6-7 months started waking up for 1.5-2 hours in the early morning and wouldn’t go back to sleep? The only thing I can think is he’s started pulling himself up and standing. I’ve read that when kiddos discover new things, it can disturb their sleep patterns. And btw, he’s fed and changed when he wakes up for that long stretch.
