By pregnantnews

It was a private adoption so my mother has limited Information. We know where they were born and the birth date but that’s about it. I need help with this!! This is my real brother or sister so im determined to be a part of their life. My mother and father are still together and married going on 34 years. Please help if you can! Thank You!

You could look at the hospital they were born at and see if they have the last name still posted to the family

i always here you need to go through the salvation army, social services who dealt with it or the library.

Usually with private adoptions your only course is to contact the adoption agency and they will release the information to you if the child that was adopted has also made the same request. Some people have had luck searching online, giving the mothers name, etc that is again only going to work if the child is looking as well.

Register and search these successful sites, in the hope of finding a match

If you let us know which State they were born there is more you can do via the State Registries and search groups. Just edit your answer with the state and I can give a more state-specific answer.

Best of luck

Some states have Adoption History Registries. In my state (Indiana) we have a Adoption History Registry, That is done through the State Department Health, Vital Records. You contact them with what information you have about the adoption, and if someone comes through also looking with the same information, they will link the 2 of you together. I do not know what state you are in, but I do know quite a few states have this program.
