I am just beginning to research international adoption. Which countries accept single parent applicants?

By pregnantnews

I find the whole adoption “thing” like a massive maze of which I haven’t managed to find much information relevent to my own personal situation. I am 39 years old, single and looking at international adoption. I would love a hand to get me headed in the right direction. I am also considering going to live in my country of choice so I can adopt from there and am considering the Philippines.

regards,

Natalie.

The main things are that you have a clean criminal record, are qualified to adopt in your home state, and have the income and resources available to rais a child. Expect to spend at least $15,000 out of pocket (minus any donations you may gather) no matter what the country and have your life under a microscope for the common 2 year waiting period in your care before finalization if you adopt from the Phillipines because Phillipino children are often not classified as orphans due to a tradition of relative care for children whose parents are not able to care for them. If you child can be classified as a true orphan, then that period may be shorter. I would suggest making sure your child is an orphan under the US Immigration standards.

Please check out the website http://www.informedadoptions.com, they have some great information and a forum for adoptive and prospective adoptive parents.

Good luck.

Ready?

THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

The foster-to-adopt program has thousands of children of all ages, races, and both genders looking for a home. And you can be single too!!!!

These kids are great and need a home and the cost = FREE (or close to it)
