By pregnantnews

I know they need sun protection every time they go outside, but can you put sunscreen on an infant as young as 3 months?

I think you can put sunscreen on an infant that young. There are suncsreens for babies. You can call your pediatrician and ask or call your pharmicist. Either one would know.

There are sunblocks made specifically for babies. Those are safe. Other sunblocks may have chemicals that are too strong for your baby, so I wouldn’t recommend using them.

Ask the doc or pharmacy, but they have special ones for babies, just read the label for age limits!

no…just keep them in the shade, big floppy hat, stroller with a top on it, car seat with a top on it ….for about a year

Yes, you should always put sunscreen your child NO matter the age. Just be sure to use the baby stuff so it doesn’t sting their skin.

I’ve always heard to wait til 6 mos at least, and to just keep them shaded until then. It’s always a good idea to keep them shaded when they are young, because the sun is draining and they can’t tell you when they are getting overheated.
It’s pretty easy to keep them shaded before then anyway because they are still immobile.
Ask your doc to be sure. When you do start it, get the kind for kids.

yeah. they make special sunscreen for babies.

Yes, you can, as long as you are careful what sunscreen you put on them, however, I agree with a couple other answers. Keeping them from being exposed to the sun’s damaging & draining rays, by shading them, is probably best. Remember that your baby can not regulate his/her own body temperature, so your baby could become overheated very quickly as a tiny infant. I’d use extra caution.

Well there’s different kinds of sunscreen some for adults and some for infants. It should be in a pharmacy nearby.
