Does anyone know if you can bring an infant car seat from Canada to the US?
ByI found an Infant car seat and stroller, that I just LOVE. But I can’t seem to find it in the US, which is quite a disappointment.
I know that you can’t bring them from the US to Canada. But Canadian standards seem to be a lot higher then the US, so I don’t understand why I wouldn’t be able to.
But if anyone knows the answer to the question, or where I could find the answer please let me know.

Just go to, or call a place that sells car seats near you. The sales people will be able to tell you what the rules are.
In Canada, we have to have an “approved” sticker on our car seats. I’m pretty sure it would be the same for you too.

Im Canadian so I know about not bringing a carseat from the US to Canada but the other way around I would suppose you can!!
Maybe you should check your local DMV? but since we have higher standards I would think it’s fine!!

Well, a lot of the car seats available in Canada are accepted in America and sold here as well. So… I don’t know why not. I also don’t think anyone checks to make sure a car seat is “approved” by the US standards. They just look to see if the child is restrained.
If it was me, I’d just email the company that makes the car seat and ask them. They can usually tell you.

i would phone and ask the manufacturer! i am Canadian and i know you cannot use American ones as our car insurance would not cover it if you got into a car accident! you could also phone your insurance im sure they could tell you =)!
