I have a carseat for each of our cars, do I still need to get the infant carrier?
ByI registered for a travel system. It comes with the infant car seat/carrier and the stroller that you can atatch the carrier to when using it. I’ve seen most people use theirs in grocery stores and out to eat but I’m wondering if it’s really worth the money with two perfectly good convertable infant to todler car seats. Do I need the carrier or is it just something everyone buys because they feel they have to?

We’re only going to use the car seat. We got a travel system as well so it’s just seems easier to click the car seat in/out when we need to.

I personally opted for the carrier car seat rather then a convertible seat so that I had the availability of the carrier… they do come in handy when you have a sleeping baby that you do not want to disturb or for the purpose of using with a shopping basket.. if though you are planning on using the convertible car seats as the actual car seat and not wanting to use a carrier/carseat then I would not buy it just to use for carrying… they are not necessity but do come in handy..

if the infant to toddler car seat is rear facing then go for it, if not I would stick to a carrier.

If you get desperate for sleep and the only way you can get the baby to sleep is by driving around the block, you will want a way to get that kid into the house without waking up. An infant seat is the way you do that.
But that might not be an issue for you.

We bought the Chicco Travel System for our son, he (and I) loved it!
He just now (at 8 months, 20 lbs.) outgrew the car seat so now he is in a Britax Convertible Car Seat ..
I still use the stroller part of the Travel System .. and he still loves it!
I think it’s SO handy to have the car seat just pop into the stroller .. especially if baby is asleep! You can easily transfer the car seat to the stroller and not even wake the baby.
It was wonderful while he was still small enough to use it
Now that I am using a regular car seat .. he still loves the stroller!
If you can afford it I would totally recommend getting the Travel System.
And just so you know, the Chicco Travel System is the highest rated Travel System on Consumer Reports!

We have a convertible car seat and a carrier. We use the carrier, A LOT! When we go anywhere and we don’t want to hold the baby the whole time, we use the carrier. We go to friends houses and he stays in his carrier and he’ll even sleep in it. I think it’s just better to have both, but really it’s your preference. Good luck!

We’ve never had a carrier, and we’ve never missed it. I prefer to wear my babies in a sling, not carry them in a plastic bucket. It’s just not very cuddly!
