Where is the expiry date located on the infant car seats?
ByI am due in 3 weeks and just dug up our old car seat from my last child and I am looking to see if it has expired.. I have no idea how old it is because it was given to us second hand. Its a graco infant seat 5-20 lbs if that helps?

Usually it’s on the side or bottom of the seat. If you know the make and model you could also try looking it up online.

have you looked under the fabric coverings? you can find the model number and call graco to see if it is still up to safety standards.
the police stations usually have car safety checks im sure they could give you info as well

It usually says the expiration date on the bottom of the car seat. If you have the booklet from the car seat it should also say in there. If you can’t find it anywhere, then you’d probably be better off buying a new one or at least a newer one. You might be able to find a number on the graco website (www.gracobaby.com) and give them the model number, which should also be on the bottom/back side of the car seat, and they could tell you if it’s expired or when it does.

It’s either stamped in the shell as do not use after or DOM. If it has the date of manufacture it is expired 6 years from that date.

Do you have the base? If so – and you purchased the base with the seat – it will be marked on the base as well.
I’ll tell you – most 20lb graco seats are expired (if not all of them)
Here is a car seat pictoral – with all the makes/models that are semi-current. Look at the bases – that will give you an idea of which seat you have and what year it was made in:
