If you use Hypnobabies, you can get the home study course, and do it yourself. No classes.
You use CD’s and a book. You listen to the CD’s every day from about week 32-ish and on. The book has lots of great information about pregnancy and birth, and also gives the schedule of when to listen to each CD and such. You basically just learn deep relaxation skills, and how to turn on and control your body’s natural anesthesia. You learn to go into deep focused states, and to percieve contractions as pressure rather than pain. We all go into “hypnotic” states frequently. Reading, driving, anything where we zone out and just do things automatically without thinking. Hypnobabies teaches you how to go into a fully relaxed state at any time.
My 1st daughter was born at a hospital with drugs. My 2nd daughter was born with a midwife and Hypnobabies. The hypnosis was amazing! I would rather go through a hundred natural births with Hypnobabies than to ever endure one more drugged fiasco! Its BETTER pain relief, without the side effects to you or your baby! I HIGHLY recommend it.
