Vag is more accurate for readings just for many reasons. They say to start temps the first day of your cycle, but if you do Vag temps I would wait until after AF. Thats what I used to do. I have been taking my temp orally (and without probe covers) for over a year, and my readings are pretty accurate! However if you find that your temps are not showing you a deffinate pattern, then I would suggest moving to the vag temp, b/c it can be more accurate for people who have a more "abnormal" or harder to read BBT.
