Please share your home water birth stories please!?
By pregnantnewsI am 30 weeks pregnant and my husband and I are planning to have a water birth at home with a midwife through hypnobirthing. I have done so much research, and more and more studies show that a home birth is actually safer than a hospital birth. I live in Canada, but I am from the UK where they are encouraging home births more and more. Just wondering if you could share your water home birth stories with me!

I have had two home births. The first home birth (my second child) I had to get out of the tub 20 minutes before she was born. Her heart rate dropped due to the position I was in (first baby didn’t like it either.) She was born on the floor of the bathroom (2.5 hour of labour.) Baby number 3 was born at home in the tub (mostly.) Her head was born in the water and then she was slightly stuck and my contractions stopped. I had to stand up in the tub, with one foot on the edge and give birth. From 8 cm to birth was 4 minutes. It was wild. She was a 1 hour 9 minute birth. I am giving birth again around November and live in a northern community in BC, and they are worried I won’t get to the hospital. I am 36 and am contemplating another home birth. I have a few more complications this time though. But have been told if I go into heavy labour at home, they must come to me. They don’t want me to be born on the side of the road (as I was!)
