Any mothers ever read The Official Lamaze Guide?

By pregnantnews

I’m wanting to have natural childbirth and trying to find a good method. I’m wondering if this book kinda teaches you how to use the method or if its even worth my time and money. Also has anyone used the Lamaze method and how did you feel about it. We can’t afford the class’s and there isn’t really any close to were we live, so i thought I’d at least resort to the book to learn.

I have heard that the c-sec rate is similar whether you use lamaze or not. Also, a lot of people who try lamaze do not wind up with natural childbirth.
I recommend the book, Natural Childbirth the Bradley Way. The Bradley method only has a 5% c-sec rate and nearly a 90% rate of natural childbirth. This book also contains the exercises you need to practice. I have used the Bradley method four times and it really works. It uses total relaxation to prevent uterine cramps. I only had moderate pain in labor because I did not cramp.

I had my first child all natural. I went to the hospital, but I had no pain killers and threw an fit when they wanted to give me Pitocin, it helps the contractions.
I went through 2 days of labor and 2 nights. Started labor on an thursday evening and went through friday before I went to the hospital to get checked, they said I had time still and I went home friday night and back to the hospital saturday. Birthed my son on saturday night at like 9 pm.
I am currently preg with my second child, I have an low lying placenta and still have been cleared to birth my second child natural also.
Good luck.
It is all about how handle the contractions to whether you can birth natural, I know that is the problem for most women, they cant handle the normal period cramps then they cant handle contractions.
I feel that if you can just move and work through the contractions they only ones that you should worry about is the ones at the end, those were the ones that I had issues with. When you are fully diliated they will feel different and they are harder and that is the sign its time to push, I could only handle two of them before I said “I am pushing, dont care if the doc is here or not.” After 2 days I felt it was enough.
I took about 2 hours pushing before I had my son.

I Never took an class, and dont plan on taking classes with this preg either.
Just rember to breath through the contractions, and the pattern of breathing doesnt matter. Just breathing.
