Anyone taking/taken a birthing class?
ByI’m thinking of taking Bradley classes next month! Anyone taken a birthing class, Bradey/Lamaze/Other? What do you think of them… Are they useful? Are they worth the $275?
This is my first baby and I would like a natural birth…

I took a lamaze class and I was glad I did. But I didn’t have to pay 275 for it. We took it at the local community college and I only paid 20 bucks for it.

Taking classes is really important, especially if this is your first. Planning a natural hospital birth can be very difficult these days, but with the right support and education you will be just fine. Bradely is a great Method of Birthing if you are planning a hospital birth, but there are many options. The Bradley Classes run about 12 weeks, two hours per class. The Hypnobirthing classes are five weeks long. And the Building Blocks 4 Better Birthing are six weeks long. It is worth it to take the classes. I did not with my first, but did with my last two and what a difference. I had amazing hospital births only because of the education I recieved. http://www.labourwithlove.com

I wasn’t going to take one. From everyone that I’ve spoken too, they pretty much teach you a lot of birthing techniques and what not while your in labor at the hospital. I am going to take a tour of the Birthing Center. That will be useful for me, my mom (Backup) and my husband.

I’m taking a child birthing class at our local hospital which covers everything, but it definitely doesn’t cost $275. If it did I would just wing it. Mine’s only costing $55. But a childbirth class is worth taking if it’s not too overly priced.

My friend took the Bradley class and she loved it and said it is worth every penny! She gave birth without meds.
I on the other hand chose to just check movies out of the library and they didn’t really help anyways and I really liked getting the epidural.
