They were the biggest waste of my money ever! The crap they tell you is stuff that pretty much everyone with a vagina already knows. Honestly the best things that I learned were from watching shows on discovery health channel. Even my husband agreed that they were more educational. I was a first time mom and soooo nervous. Honestly I told my husband that birthing class made me more nervous because they make you feel like you need to bring sooo much more to the hospital than you really need to. If you want to feel even more unprepared for childbirth then take the class. I thought it was a waste of time and money. Seriously watch the discovery health channel and you will learn sooooooooooooooooooooo much more than the child birth class will teach you. Not only that, once you've watched a few you know exactly what's going to happen once you get in the delivery room. The problem comes when you panic forget what you learned and dont apply it. Man was I glad. So many things had changed since I had had my first child. You should call your health provider. Many medical insurances will pick up the cost of birthing classes.
