Question about lamaze/birthing classes?
ByWith my first pregnancy, I went into labor at 28 weeks and my son was born at 31 weeks so I never got to go to any lamaze classes. Because of that, I’m considered high risk with this prenancy and will have to go on bedrest at 24 weeks. Right now, I’m only 12 weeks and have an appointment to see my OB/GYN in a few weeks, so I will ask him then, but wanted to ask other mother’s opinions too. When is a good time to take lamaze classes? Are they necessary, or do people usually forget what they learned due to labor pains anyway? What is taught? Is there anything strenuous (like pretending to push) that may cause a problem in someone high risk like me? Thanks so much!

In my opinion if you already have one child then you pretty much know what to exspect. Some classes do have you fake push and all that. I only took lamaz class with my 1st child. All they show is a film, tour hospital, fake push, look at a doll, and some do cpr classes but not always. Good luck

I forgot everything except the breating which I forgot once I got in transition. We never did anything that would complicate or comprimise a pregnacy like pretending to push.
