WEG 2010 Jumping Finals – Hickstead Best Horse
By
Eric Lamaze’s mount, Hickstead, was the only horse to complete four clear rounds at the 2010 World Equestrian Games finals. I put together this video I shot of Hickstead carrying all four riders through clear rounds. It would only be fitting that Hickstead would complete his final round with the only athlete to go all clear as well. Philippe le Jeune of Belgium who took home the Gold

Sadly I couldn’t make it, but I watched it all on T.V.! It was so amazing and ingenious how they had every person and horse complete the course four different times. Hickstead is amazing and just watching him gets my adrenaline pumping!
great vid!

@twinstatethunder It was far from chilly that evening – I was in short sleeves! Your blood is too thin living in FL!! lol

Love seeing this put together this way – I was ushering there. Horse Park head farrier told me that Hickstead arrived at WEG somewhat lame and they were concerned he wouldn’t be able to compete. Had top farrier from the Netherlands work on him and this was the result! So often we hear about human athletes working through adversity – I don’t think anyone knew what this horse had overcome! Great horse
