Anyone have a Natural Childbirth?
ByI want to have a natural childbirth and was curious of other women’s experiences, have you had a natural childbirth, or attempted a natural childbirth and decided otherwise once you went into labor?
If not, what are your feelings on natural childbirth?
Thanks!

well, my wife had one.
In my country (norway) you cant chose surgery if not for a good reason, dont see why you should either.
Natural childbirth hurts, of course, but its natural…

i had my baby natural, it was amazing! the pain is nothing like they say, you just have to want it bad enough and relax and it goes by with ease. i had no epidural either.

ok with my daughter it was too late for an epidural so i felt everything. with my son i had an epidural. he was my first and my daughter my second. i don’t see the hype of the natural child birth. it hurt horribly and i was so exhausted and still in pain after having her that i didn’t get to enjoy it as much as i did with my son. the epidural with him kept me relaxed and refreshed even with a longer labor. i was able to keep him in my room with me that first night but with my daughter i was just too wore out that the nursery kept her. i personally recommend getting the meds when needed. but i also applaud the women who choose to go natural because it was awful.

Me :]
I didn’t plan to but i refused gas and air after 5 minutes as it made me sick, and the pethidine injection failed.
It was amazing.
My labour was 34 hours long, and I didn’t go into hospital until i was 9cm dilated and contracting every minute. I took 2 baths, which really helped sooth my contractions.
The contractions hurt but were bearable. The worst part was her crowning, that hurt alot and felt like i was going to tear (Thankfully i didn’t, thanks to my midwife massaging me which i pushed.)
I’m planning to have a water birth with my next baby! I cannot wait to experience it again!

I decided on a natural childbirth. BUT i started hyperventilating and my doctors decided on using the epidural so that i could push easier. i made it 38 hours with no drugs what so ever. i’m sure you could do it, many woman do it all the time! just keep in mind that the pain does not last forever and it will be over soon! it’s scary and very painful, of course. but you could be one of the women who can say you made it through! natural childbirth is said to be much better for the baby. but trust your doctors and explain to them what you want. they will discuss all options! good luck!!

my wife and I had planed on all natural but we had the epidural on hand just in case, which was great because she ended up needing it. Our baby boy turned to the O.P position and wouldn’t come out the doctors also miss calculated his weight they thought he would be 7 pounds…turns out they were 3 pounds off and my poor little 5″3 wife had to push out a 9 pound baby with the help of forceps which we later found out was a HUGE mistake on the doctors part because they were supposed to do an emergency C section, not to mention he had the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck TWICE…it was a nightmare it seemed like everything that could go wrong went wrong… but I am very very thank full that my son came out healthy.

watch the documentary called “the business of being born”
it’s very informative on natural childbirth and shows all of the reasons why its better
it even shows actual footage of natural childbirth.
I haven’t had any kids, but if I ever do I would definitely have them naturally after seeing this documentary.

I sort of had a natural child, if you mean natural as in no pain meds or epidural, than i had a natural childbirth but i was induced so it technically wasn’t. I was in labor for 48 hours and it really was the most pain i could ever possibly imagine, but i would not have had it any other way. I plan on having more children and i plan on going natural every time

I had a natural child birth 19 hours it was painful but still a great experience. My child weighed in at 7lbs9oz 20in long I would defiantly recommend natural child birth.

I would love to say i had all natural births but to be honest im too much of a wimp. With my first babies (my daughter and son) i had an epidural both were over due babies and the labour lasted 28 hours and 34 hours =S
With my 3rd baby she was 6 weeks premature and very tiny, also when i went into labour with her i wasn’t even aware since it had been nothing like i’d experienced with my others, because of this i continued changing the beds and got the other children bathed it wasn’t until my husband got home from work and i said i was having stomach pains that i was aware i had gone into labour lol
I got to hospital very late and she was already on her way so no time for an epidural… it hurt like hell despite the fact she was half the size of my other 2… i really would not recommend it because if you start and the baby comes out 10lb plus you are gonna struggle. I completely blacked out and thought .. yep this is how im gonna die =P when i came round i began hyperventilating it was a horrible experience and it took me a couple of days before i was able to get up well enough to get her out her crib, yet alone take her home.
With my 4th i made damn sure i was there early enough for an epidural and everything that was on offer =P and all went well, to be honest the healthiest of my babies were all born ‘unnaturally’ with epidurals gas and air etc so it did mine no harm.
I really don’t advise it unless there is some reason such as bad reactions to drugs that would stop you
Good Luck xx

I had a natural childbirth. I had the opposite situation happen. I had wanted to have an epidural but my labor progressed so fast that I didn’t have time for anything. I’d always thought that I was the biggest wimp when it came to pain because every month that I had my period I’d faint and throw up the whole time(I had Endometriosis). I thought that there was just no way I’d be able to do it. However, I surprised myself by having my beautiful little baby girl naturally. I don’t regret it. Good luck to you.

I have had four natural births. I used the Bradley method. If you truly want natural birth, you need to find a doctor who is in favor of your wishes. Here in central Indiana, most doctors are against natural birth and some hospitals will not allow it. I went to a birth center because I could not find a hospital that would let me have a natural birth. By natural birth I mean that I was allowed to eat during labor, did not have an IV or an electronic monitor, no medication, no routine episiotomy, and I did not lie flat on my back during labor.
