C-section or Natural Childbirth?

By pregnantnews

Ok i am 16 years old. I am 12 weeks and 4 days longs. So i have a little longer until i have the baby. Do you think that i would have a c-section because, maybe im not big enough to have the baby the natural way, or do you think they will have me give natural childbirth anyways?

It’s really a question to discuss with your doctor.

you’re barely getting out of your first trimester, so there is no way to tell at this point. women have been giving birth since time began, and no doctor would recommend giving you a c-section unless it was an emergency. you would be surprised how much your body will take over and get the job done while you’re in labor.

You are fully capable of birthing naturally :) If anyone tries to tell you otherwise, go get a second opinion!

NAtural unless there are any problems…very few people are too small to give birth…I had to have a c sectio because my pelvis is very narrow…but I am not physically small…I am 5 foor 6 inches and averagely built…they didnt know my pelvis was small till I couldn;t get the baby out..her head would not pass through the bony section of my pelvis…natural birth is better for everyone…I hope you can give birth..I will never know the experince of having a baby naturally…I cannot do it.

my niece was 15 when she had her baby and she was tiny and she had him just fine.he was6lb 9oz.they will only do a c-section if emergency.hope this helps and good luck to you.babys are alot of work.

that’s something your doctor will determine as your pregnancy progresses. being 16, you will most likely want natural birth anyways. a c-section could leave you with a terrible scar. a friend of mine is 18 and recently had her first child via the natural way. she said it was a relief to find it was a lot more simple and painless than she imagined. you may not even get very big, everyone is different. talk with your doctor about your wishes and concerns.

…and picking up some vitamin E oil won’t hurt. rub it on your belly at least once a day to promote healthy skin stretching with limited marks.

You should discuss it with your midwife they will advise you. Always talk to them about your concerns and questions throughout your pregnancy.

So you think because you are 16 you are too ‘little’ to have a baby?
Maybe you should have thought of this before you had sex.
Womens bodies are designed to have chidren. That’s what we do.
A girl can get her period at 11, therefore can get pregnant at 11, therefore have a baby at 11. There are circumstances that require women to have a c-section. But just because you are 16 – uhhh no.
You sound really immature if this is what is concerning you.

I know a 14 year old that delieverd naturally.
Just because of your age it doesn’t determine everything in life.
Talk it over with your doctor.
Most doctors try to have natural births as much as possible.

Many petite women have given birth before. Unless they think your baby is extremely large (like 10+ lbs) or you or the baby have medical problems, you’ll deliver vaginally. Also, being able to give birth has to do with the shape and size of your pelvis, which has nothing to do with how big or small you look.

girl size of the female doesnt matter when it comes to giving birth…c-sections r if there is complications during pregnancy or with the baby…i suggest u push for a natural birth. u heal faster and better. its not as bad as u imagine physically. once the baby is out u be a lil swollen, sore and tired but by two wks u be good as gold. c-section alot longer like weeks and months to heal and any more kids after most likely will be c-section also.

I was 23 when my daughter was born but my pre pregnancy weight was under 7 stone (98 pounds) and I used to go clubbing in age 13 year olds skirts cause my hips were so small.

I always thought I might be too small but I gave birth vaginally easily. You will be surprised what your body can do and I only had gas and air. Good luck xx

Your age has nothing to do with the size of your pelvis.

Most doctors try to encourage vaginal births…unless they are the kind that do elective c-sections, for no real reasons.

i was also 16 when i had my baby and i was worried about the exact same thing, (i was a size 4 before i got pregnant). but i later learnt size doesnt always matter i had baby natural (movies make it look way too easy lol), n usually they wont say u need a c section unless baby is in distress or u aren’t dilating properly. hope my answer helps in some way and good luck with everything

As long as complications dont arise till the end of your term, natural childbirth is recommended

I’d say it will be natural childbirth unless you are having complications. At 16 you are in great shape to give birth so don’t worry, it won’t be harder just becaue your younger. Go to pre-natal birth classes and get info on childbirth and you’ll be fine
