Do you do a #2 during childbirth?

By pregnantnews

OK, I didn’t know how else to headline the question.
But my bf’s mother told him that you don’t. I love the lady…but this is the same lady who gave natural childbirth to 3 children (him included)…and I honestly think that’s a load of crap! (no pun intended).

What about your experiences?
UGHHHHHHHH..so when I see that greenish brown stuff in labor videos..it’s not really “labor” stuff?????

I DID! I think that anyone who pushes for that long has to!!!! At the time you dont care though because of the pain you are in. The nurses are really good and discrete about it.

A lot of women do go #2 during labor, it’s natural and normal, especially when you are pushing so hard. She may not have because they used to give enemas beforehand.

3

Right. She only had three. How in the world could she know?

4

ive never given birth but my friends have told me it feels like you need to go really bad but you dont actually need to go…im sure that with all the pushing it could happen tho

5

Not all the time but it does happen.

This has always been a big fear of mine and my sisters but so far we have had 5 babies and it hasn’t happened yet. *crosses fingers*

Although, I am sure the doctors could care less. It would still be embarrassing with the husband in there.

7

I have not had a child however my sister and other people have told me this can happen yes, not always though but it can.

8

um im sorry but that happened to me when i had my child

9

i just asked my mother and she said when u start getting active contractions the body gets rid of its waste…including fecal matter. but during the actual childbirth–its already out of there. she also added that she went thru it 4 times and it happened that way for her each time.

10

Well, I never have, but they do prep you with an enema first

11

I haven’t had a kid but from what I’ve been told if you don’t go before you go into the delivery room then you will. Obviously if you’re pushing that hard and straining and everything I would think so. And a girl I used to work with told me that the hospital won’t let you eat after having the baby until you pass gas. I think that ones hilarious.

12

I asked my friend that same question and she said that she did when she gave birth…

13

Well, I had diarrhea twice when I was having contractions but and that literally cleaned me out so nothing came out when I was pushing. When I pushed some #1 came out. But my Doctor said that if some #2 comes out it is a good thing because you are using the right muscles. It is nothing to be embarrassed about because the Doctors see it all the time.

14

Yeah, you do. It happens and it happened!

As my wife was apologizing, the nurse told my wife that the last 3 births she was helping out, all came with a surprise bonus.

That’s probably why once you go into labor, they don’t want you to eat anything but popsicles.

depends – but it happens a LOT

16

yes it does happen, more often than not actually!

17

Yes it can happen for some women. It’s not gross or embarrassing. It is very natural and a part of the whole process. The doc and nurses do not mention it or go “Ewwwww” they have seen it a thousand times and just clean up whatever it is they have to and go about their job to help you. My sister had 2 kids. If she did have it happen they didn’t tell her. Your boyfriends mother may not of had that happen to her. Not every woman has it happen to them. Some have it happen with all of their births and some don’t. Have a good day. :)

Funny this question is up here today!! A co-worker with 4 children told me today that I shouldn’t be alarmed if that happens-I am going to have my first child in April. She said they fail to warn you it can happenso be prepared!

19

It did not happen with my first child, but it did with my second. I wouldn’t of known either except that I happened to glance at the nurse once as she was cleaning up afterwords and I saw it. She never said anything to me though. I don’t think they do. It’s just a natural process and they are used to it. At first I thought it would be embarrassing, but then you realize all of what is going on down there and you realize that it is nothing to them.

I also agree that if it happens it means your using the correct muscles to push. With my first I had an epidural and had a hard time pushing – they kept telling me to ‘push like I was pooping’. With my second I had her naturally and easily pushed her out with two pushes (and did #2 without realizing it.)

Having a baby is an amazing experience, but not very clean is it?
