For moms who had epidural AND natural childbirth…?
ByWhat was better? How were they different? Most moms tell me the natural birth was better, as they felt so good afterwards! I had natural birth the first time, but am scared of the pain this time around, so I want to know what you think was different about the two ways to go!?!!?

I have had 2 children, the first was natural which hurt like h e l l, it felt like I was being pried open with a jack between my legs. And my labor was induced which doubled the intensity. My second I was scared because I remembered the first so I got demerol because I have scoliosis and was afraid of epidural. But that did not dull the pain at all. It still was very painful to me; and once again the labor was induced again. The second time around did not hurt afterwards as much as the first time though. I am sorry I wish I could share a happier story but both labors was painful to me. Even with the attempt of having pain killers during the second birth it did not help me. But maybe it will be more pleasant for you. Study you lamaze and have someone there to support you. I was alone during my second child’s birth which was also horrible.

I have had 4children in 5 years and for my first i did not have an epidural. My husband thought i was going to break his hand. my second i did and it was nice not feeling any pain but i couldn’t get up after. So for my last two children I didn’t. You will know if you need it or not.
