Very likely. It just depends how small you are down there and how big your baby is.
When my nephew was born ( an almost 9 lbs baby) my sister tore down there and the doctor had to sew her up and her pee pee area was hurting for almost 2 WEEKS!!

Midwives usually use oil to help stretch our your perineum while the baby is descending the birth canal.They also apply warm wash cloths to the area and guide you to push the baby at the right pace ( not too fast that you tear). Many midwives suggest you do your own perienal massage starting at 34 weeks. Here is a web site with instructions.

A midwife would be your best bet to not tear. Doctors (and a fw midwives) cause most of the tearing by making you push too early. Also having an epidural will increase the chance of a tear because you wouldn’t be able to feel what was going on.

I had my baby at home, with just my husband and I, and I tore very slightly. I decided not to even bother going to have it stitched and healed just fine. I will say that I knew I was pushing too soon, I should have waited one more contraction to push but didn’t. I only pushed that one time, and probably wouldn’t have had to at all if I had waited.

Also, positioning makes a huge difference. I had my baby standing. Hands and knees, and squatting make tearing less likely also.

A good majority of women tear….the good news is you can have just a midwife deliver your baby, and she can go fetch the OB if you tear.

Almost everyone gets teared down there during final stages of pregnancy.. sometime Doc does that, however mine did not still I teared but doc wl sew it back and few weeks you wl be back to normal

its very likely to tear. 85% of women tear during pregnancy.
