Natural childbirth is planning for a birth without all of the unnecessary medical protocols and unnecessary medical interventions such as iv’s,internal exams by man different hands, painful pitocin to make you hurry, epidural, forceps, episiomities, and so forth. birth is not an emergency or a surgery, it is a natural process. It is an “intervention as needed” approach to a healthy birth. They do in fact give you pain medications if you please because it is totally natural to want to alleviate pain.

I chose this method for last 3 births and my next to come. ; )

Prepared child birth classes tell you everything you can expect from hospital protocol when you come to deliver.

You can expect constant fetal monitoring, being forced to stay in your bed, a constant iv, intrusive internal exams, medications to speed up your labor that cause pain, an epidural to take away that pain and being totally unable to feel anything from the waste down, followed by the inability to feel the urge to push often resulting long periods of ineffective pushing and in them cutting you down there to help get the baby out and also baby who is floppy and tired from the medications they give you.

I attended the “prepred child birth” before my first child I didn’t know any better at the time.

There are several difference types of Natural childbirth classes out there, including The Bradley Method, Lamaze, and Hypno-birthing. I am sure there are others out there as well. I believe these are what are called “prepared” methods. All of these are also “natural” – which just means that
natural classes help you prepare for a birth that does not involve pain meds.

One of the reasons I chose to go “natural” was that it is becoming very common these days for births to end up in an unnecessary C-section, and births that use epidural anesthesia are more likely to end up in c-section for a variety of reasons, including labor slowing down and the mother not being able to walk around and change positions when she labors.

Prepared childbirth classes I assume mean that the mother has some sort of education about the birth process going into labor, as opposed to just arriving at the hospital not knowing about any methods, options, etc for childbirth. Anyone can try to just “not ask for pain meds” at the hospital, but taking “prepared” childbirth classes help you do just that – “prepare” yourself for a pain med-free birth experience.

I have my first prepared childbirth class tomorrow night; I can update my answer then and let you know what we did. At the hospital I will be giving birth at I have 3 two hour sessions of the class.

Prepared Childbirth means teaching methods on how to cope during labor and birth.It also will give you an understanding on how labor and birth progress.

Prepared Childbirth classes shows all the different childbirth methods available today.

Natural childbirth classes you go and help prepare yourself for a childbirth without drugs. I haven’t heard of prepared childbirth classes. I just saw the ridiculous answer you got and wanted to help as much as i could. sorry if im not much help. but i am only having my first child.

I have never done a class, but really want to this time. I’m having a natural birth and don’t know anything about any of the birthing classes. I just did my first two totally natural. Might be the same this time around. Good question.
