If I want to have a natural childbirth?
ByPreviously I had all my babies with help like pitocin or induction. I never had an all natural just go into labor on your own.Can I request the doctor not interfere and just let me progress on my own? would a good way to do that be to just stay home as long as possible monitoring my own contractions til labor is in full swing? Or do docs not let you do that?

my suggestions:
have a midwife attended birth
wait till you go into labour naturally
stay at home until you are in active labour
have your baby at home or at an active birthing clinic.

if you were induced then there was a reason why you were. If there is something wrong and baby is not coming out on its own, then I think that it be wise to get some sort of help for baby.

you can do whatever you want but if you have a natural birth it will hurt 500 times more and who the hell will deliver your baby when you’re in so much pain.

yes you can devise a birth plan that says you do not want any drugs to help you and that you want to have a natural child birth. It is important that you find an OB/GYN that is ok with this as several of them see childbirth as a proceedure and they want it to flow within their set guidelines and they do things in a procedural way, and others are like whatever way works for you is good.
I have had 4 natural childbirths with no meds my friends all thought I was insane but it was the best eperience of my life.
Try reading some info on natural childbirth on the Bradley Method (Natural Childbirth) and see if you can find a Bradley’s instructor to help you find a good OB/GYN that does natural childbirths.

Dr’s cannot make you so anything, you just have to keep saying no. I also want to have a natural birth, so what i am doing is getting a midwife and having a home birth, but if you are not comfortable with that You can always find a midwife that attends hospital births. Midwife are more into letting your body do its thing, rather than interfering.
you can also hire a doula, a birth professional who is there to attend to your every need and to keep the dr off you back some.
I also suggest a wonderful book called Ina Mays Guide to Childbirth, it is great and since i have read it i am actually excited about labor.
Good luck and remember your the one laboring you should have things the way you want them.

YES!
Staying at home is a good idea as long as you feel comfortable. Once you show up at the hospital, it’s like they put you on a clock and want to rush things. There is nothing wrong with letting your body do what it’s programmed to do, and you might be surprised. As long as the placenta is functioning properly and you’re healthy, there is no reason why you can’t be allowed to go slightly overdue.
It’s your pregnancy, and your body. While you need to defer to your doctor sometimes, your intuition and feelings about your own body should also weigh heavily in this matter.
I would familiarize yourself with all the signs of labor, including the various stages – then you know when you really need to go. Certain things are likely to happen at different times during labor, and that might give you a good idea of when to go in. Walking around and changing positions frequently can also help you cope with the pain before you head to the hospital.
ETA: FWIW, for lots of women the Pitocin only makes labor harder and more painful, hence the need for epidurals. You might find you don’t need any pain meds since your labor hasn’t been ramped up by the Pit.

yes, i would go in with a full birth plan, on paper, so even if you’re in pain, they have your wishes there in writing.
i had to be induced because my water broke at 37 weeks and there is a high risk of infection at that point, but other than that…why not?
good luck!!!

If you are overdue the doc will want to continually monitor the baby, if everything is ok they will let you go naturally! Good luck

Divine..a.. is right. Go to a birth center or look for someone who will let you use Bradley method. With Bradley method you are supposed to eat during labor so you don’t get too hungry. I had a cookie and some milk 20 minutes before my son was born. When I was looking for a doctor so I could have natural childbirth, I found out that a lot of doctors are against it.
