I used the Bradley method with all of mine. The baby is less likely to go into distress, and the infant mortality rate is lower with a natural birth. The c-sec rate is only 5% with the Bradley method. Episiotomies are also seldom done.

Mothers who opt for natural childbirth see it as a bonding & empowering experience. It means something on a deeply emotional level.

Going natural gives you more control over labor and delivery — you choose the coping methods and the birthing position.

Pain medication can sometimes increase the chances of a cesarean in first-time mothers. Since natural methods don’t use them, your baby might come out more responsive and less sleepy.

Remember that natural childbirth methods are purely a matter of personal choice. What is important is to have a pregnancy plan in place.

Given the choice between natural and c-section, I would go with natural every time! My son is almost 14, and even though I was in labor for 77 hours, I begged to NOT have a c-section; as long as both of us were doing good. My reasons were simple: natural childbirth is actually healthier for your baby and you than c-section. Your body is designed for this birthing process. The tight squeeze through the birth canal squeezes mucous out of the baby, along with other benefits.

The healing process is quicker for the female body, and I do feel that it gives you a “bond” with your baby.

I’m going to have a natural birth because it seems like the least risky way. Medications and surgeries all have side effects, and I just want to have a complication free birth.

I have also heard that you’re more aware when you have natural birth, and feel more connected to your baby when they come.

Although I don’t have children yet, I think opting for a natural birth gives women a sense of satisfaction, in a way. Here’s a website that gives all sorts of info about it–
