PAIN MEDS
)
C-section
Our son is beautiful and healthy, and I am very happy with my choice. Do what you think is best for you and your baby.

I have done both and preferred the unmedicated birth. Women have choices in their births. They can get good childbirth education to help make those choices and let their voices be heard.
Birth blessings to you.

I had twins, I was in labor for 39 hours. I took the drugs and wouldn’t do it any other way.

I did it completely natural the first time! I’m also hoping that I can do it again this time..now I know what to expect so I think I’ll be a lot more nervous..I keep stressing to myself that something is going to happen, and I’ll have to have a c-section. That’s what worries me the most!

I have 5 kids and I’ve done it both ways…. It all depends on the mom, the size of the baby, and personal choice…The babies I used meds on weighed 10 pounds and by the time I delivered I was beyond exhausted, the pain releif at that time was a blessing!

I’ve done both. The epidural is a wonderful, wonderful thing. My epi births were no less amazing than my ‘natural’ birth. In fact, I was able to be more present.
As my sister’s doc says…no one would make you feel guilty for asking for pain relief with any other thing that hurts…so why people lay on guilt for not doing it ‘naturally’ should mind their own beeswax. You can also pass a gall stone naturally…but no one makes anyone feel bad for not wanting to do that.
I hope your third goes as you hope it will – whether that is with or without pain relief…it’s your labour and delivery…your decision. Congrats!

I had natural childbirth but I got an epidural…just because you get drugs doesn’t make childbirth unnatural!

i don’t agree with the term, any woman that carries a baby for 40 weeks and delivers either vaginally or c-sec with or without med that to me is all natural.

I delivered naturally both times. I can’t say that either was by choice (nurses pulled some BS the first time so I couldn’t get my epidural; with my second, it simply went too fast).

I had a C-section so of course I had med, but I don’t think I would ever do natural without meds.. I have had so many women tell me after that they could not do all natural with no meds. The ended up taking something.
Before I knew I was having a C-section, so many women looked down on me because I was going to do the epidural. Do what you believe is right for you. My own personal belief is, the meds are there for a reason. You are still there experiencing the birth – just not all of the pain.

Natural with my first, epidural with my second (she was face up – had terrible back labor) – honestly the epidural didn’t work very well. I don’t feel ma ny other drugs are for me, so I will be trying to go it natural again this time around.
I don’t knock any one for getting the pain meds though, they just aren’t for me.

I have delivered naturally three times and I will always. I find that with each birth I get better at handling the pain. My last I believe that I “hypnotized” myself. I was basically just meditating through the pain that it was alright and I forced my bottom to relax. I got to an 8 practically with out breaking a sweat. Good luck to you!!

I made a really good attempt to go natural… dilated all the way to 8 cm before I had an epidural. The pain was too much for me! I knew that being in that much pain was stressing me out, and therefore would most likely lead to me pushing ineffectively. I feel I made the right choice for me. Good for you for being able to do it natural… you are stronger than me!

I am going to try to go for natural birth and no pain meds.
