Was anyone NOT in too much pain during natural childbirth?
ByMy mom, aunts, and God mother popped out kids like it was nobody’s business and ALL of them had natural births. They all say it didn’t hurt and they had normal size babies (6 pounds to 9 pounds and 13 oz). I see everyone on here with answers to questions about childbirth pain such as: “Get ready because it’s the worst thing you’ll ever feel.”
Now, with all due respect, my family has a pretty high pain tolerance, but is anyone else with my family on this?
By the way, some of them had drugs and some didn’t and they all say the same thing so the epidural is not the means to the end of this “No, it didn’t hurt” phenomenon.
I’m not expecting. I’m still young. We just watch a lot of childbirth shows and the women are screaming like someone’s chopping off their head and my mom always goes “Psh, what a load. Doesn’t hurt.”
Just to clarify: I’m pretty sure the reason people opt for natural childbirth these days is because it’s safer for the baby.
My mom had a natural birth (unfortunately the baby died), but I was full breech and she hemorraged my sister so she had C-sections with us.
C-sections are far more dangerous.
And my mom won’t make up stuff like *that* hurting, plus, I highly doubt the entire family held a meeting just to say “Let’s make sure none of this generation knows how bad it hurts” haha, so please no rude answers such as “your mom is full of crap”
Thanks!

i had both my sons natural and it was not very painful for me at all. if it was there would not be baby #2 that’s for sure. your body was made to give birth and once the time comes your body knows just what to do. but expecting baby#3 in july and hope that delivery goes smoothly as well. good luck!!!

natural childbirth is excruciating why a woman opt for this in today’s world I am clueless. I had my daughter at 27 weeks and I wasn’t allowed pain meds. The worst hour of my life. I had an epidural with my son and it was better. Sorry it doesn’t make you any less of a woman if you decide to take meds.

i had 2 children naturally. i’m not going to sugar coat it, it hurts but it’s managable. i have a pretty high pain tolerance and wasn’t in enough pain to have an epidural. it’s not a pain you can even describe after the fact. it’s like your brain intentionally forgets about the pain so you’ll reproduce again.

Anyone who says it didn’t hurt is full of crap, but the pain is manageable. I was desperate for air with every contraction and that was the worst part about it. You are in pain and it takes your breath away. Take the lamaze classes!

I did it natural with my first because I take after my mom and I popped her out so fast. I plan to go natural again this time if I can. YES the pain is really bad BUT it is one of those things where once it is over you cant even remember how bad it was lol. It does hurt but I think it is tolerable if you stay calm

My mom had 3 of us naturally (without drugs) and she said it was fine. Uncomfortable, but not horridly painful. I guess it varies from woman to woman and depends on pain tolerance, baby size, etc.

I think some people are more dramatic than others, so at times like in childbirth they will be more dramatic. Like some people go to concerts and scream and yell. Me, I just clap! So it’s more natural for people who scream at everything to scream during giving birth. My mum is like me; not overly dramatic. She said of course it hurt, but she never screamed. She didn’t have drugs either; just gas and air but that made her feel sick so she stopped.
