Neither are more risky. It’s all just up to you.

Plus-Natural birth, lets you get up and walk right after baby is born.

Plus-Epidural you don’t feel much.

Minus-Natural birth, it hurts!

Minus-You don’t get to move around much after baby is born with epidural.

they are both risky in my opinion. i mean, with and epidural you wont be able to get out of bed and walk around. you dont get to experience what it feels like to have your child. there is a small possibility that it can later lead to back problems and even leave you crippled. BUT lets say you do get one and your fine. you dont have to experience the mind numbing pain of contractions. you get to rest more often so that you have more energy to push. if you have to get a c section you are already prepped with an iv so that helps move things along alittle faster. as for child birth. the top con would be the pain. but for some that could be a pro too. you also have a chance of tearing. but with natural child birth you heal ALOT quicker then you would with a c section…. yeah. there are also other drugs that you an use as well. i suggest you go take a lamaze class and they will give you sooo much information on it!!! good luck.

The list of risks WITH drugs is a lot longer than most of us would have thought.

These are the worst.
Convulsions
Respiratory paralysis
Cardiac arrest
Allergic shock
Nerve injury
Epidural abscess
Maternal death

Natural birth? ehh, well you’ll just be screaming, crying and wishing you were in hell instead of that position, and 1 second will seem like 1 hour until the baby is finally born.

I said through out my entire pregancy i was gonna get an epidural during my labor cause i am a pussy for the pain, my after i saw my best friend give birth i said no way, ( the funny thing is she said she was going to give birth all natural) she ended up getting an epidural because she also had to be induced, but i saw what they put her through you have to get the epidural DURING a contraction, and that maked you paralized from the mid drift down, they have to put a pee bag on you because you can not walk. you can not eat anything its just a big ordeal over pain that is painful but you can get through it! just remeber to breath and that women have been doing this for many many many years!
so after i was my best friend go thourgh all that i decided to give birth all natural in a bath tub.
plus the healing time is 10 times faster than when you have an epidural!

I had a natural birth 2 times and I loved it! But I also know people who got drugs, epidurals, etc and loves their births. There is more of a risk whenever you have any drugs or epidurals, but the likelihood of anything serious is slim.

Pros-The pain will be less intense especially if you have to be induced like I was.
Con-Back pain later from the epidural.
Pros-If you need an emergency c-section it really helps.

I held off on any pain management until it was now or never. I wanted to have some idea of what was going on. In the end it is up to you. And your not going to remember the pain or lack of pain your going to have your baby and none of the other stuff is going to matter.
