How much does it cost to rent a tub for the water birth?

By pregnantnews

Do you know how much does it cost to rent a tub for the water birth? Does insurance cover it? We want to have a water birth in our local hospital, but they said that we have to bring out own tub.
$ 10-200 sounds affordable. I was afraid it would be like $1000-$5000. You know, being pregnant is expensive. They charge ridiculous prices for everything.

Thank you for your answer.

The cost depends on where you live. I have found the rental fees to be anywhere from $10 to $200. I have never experienced a reimbursement by an insurance company.
Birth blessings to you.

I looked into this as well. The hospital I was originally going to deliver at also said I must bring my own tub. The company I talked to provided the tub & setup/takedown for around $300. I was told insurance would not cover it. Sadly I had to switch doctors which put me delivering at a different hospital and they don’t do tub births *grrr* completely unsupportive! That’s wonderful that you’re choosing a water birth, I wish you the best of luck & hope it’s a wonderful experience for you!
