Is it better to have a water birth at home or the hospital?

By pregnantnews

I’m not pregnant yet, but we’re trying. And instead of worrying about all the planning and stuff when I actually get pregnant, my husband and I are trying to figure things out now. I’ve been thinking that I want a water birth… but I don’t know if it would be better to do it at home or at the hospital?

im having my baby in the hospital

i would say the hospital because there tub is sterile and they know just the right temp to have the water.if it’s too cold it could get sick if too hot can scold it or something of that nature. hope you get the baby. and do it at hospital since it would be your first

It all depends where you feel most comfortable. I tried to have a waterbirth at home with my first one and if i hadnt had to have a emergency c-section i would be doing it again this time. Being at home, with my family and in comfortable surroundings was wonderful. I just wish i could do it again.

I feel better having my baby at the hospital b/c at many hospitals now you can have that “home” like atmosphere but have all the medical stuff at arms reach “just in case”. The trick though, I think, is finding an OB and hospital you are completely comfortable with who is willing and offers what you wish.

i’m having mine at home just because it feels more comfortable an s relaxing and of course have a midwife she would know the right temperature of the water. and also the family..
good luck!!
