Wow…she wasn’t very big, you can’t really tell she’s pregnant. Lucky her! I was huge! I want to do water birth with my next one.

I thought so too! But a baby born under water is ok because they don’t need to breathe air until the umbilical chord is exposed to air, which makes it contract and shrivle up. When that happens, the baby needs to breathe air.

Great job everyone! I especially appreciate how patient the midwives were (and usually are) waiting for you to be truly ready to push, to wait for the contractions. If only doctors could be so patient.
