Looking for moms who have tried alternative birth methods?

By pregnantnews

I’m a writer trying to find moms who are willing to discuss their alternative labors: water births, home births, acupressure, massage, hypno birth.

I have had 2 children at home (planned) and 1 in the hospital (planned) and 1 at a birth center with midwives (which was actually a beautifully converted house with 5 bedrooms).
E-mail me, I’d be happy to share my experiences! All Happy and Good!

I studied Hypno Birthing when I was pregnant. It was pricey but I came out of the classes with skills that I could apply to areas of my life besides birthing. I ended up having a schedule cesarean section due to a)breeched fetal postion b)low birth weight and c)fetus was wrapped in her umbilical cord. I was really excited to try the Hypno Birthing process but did not have the opportunity. I would highly recommend the Hypno Birthing class anyway!

I had both of my babies in a free-standing birth center with Certified Nurse-Midwives. I labored standing up, sitting on the toilet, in the shower, and on all fours, and leaning over a birth ball. I breathed deeply and used visualization throughout labor. My births were very peaceful and I found the pain quite manageable – not all all like the screaming torment people tend to assume “natural childbirth” is!

My email is in my profile if you would like to contact me further. :)

I had two home water births, and I love to talk about them.
