Natural Childbirth of Twins and Triplets!
By
Photo montage of moms who have had their twins or triplets naturally (most were unmedicated and with as few interventions as possible), many against great odds! Dedicated to all the moms of multiples who gave their all and did everything they could for their babies, no matter whether their birth was vaginal or cesarean. I am sorry you feel this way. You did your best and this was out of your control in an emergency situation. The placenta is the fetus’s lifeline. Placenta abruptio decreases the supply of oxygen and nutrients to the fetus, making it one of the leading causes of fetal death in the third trimester. Your babies are healthy, it’s what matters now. Blaming yourself won’t change anything. Be proud. You did great.

Funny you should ask, I hear it a lot. I was scared and had the same attitude, “why risk it?” and wanted the section but my dr talked me out of it and encouraged me to try vaginal. She explained the risks and that the C section isn’t always in the best interest of the babies. In their words: “vaginal birth roughens them up, it helps them breathe better when they are born” and we needed that. I am the one in the video with premature babies at 32w1d. They were fine, just small.

Thank you sooo much. 13 years ago I was a single woman with an unexpected twin pregnancy. My delivery (if you can call it that) was a horrible horrible csec that left me weak, infected, and scarred mentally and physically. All because one twin was a pound larger than the other. Dr claimed to be afrais of ttts. They both were perfectly fine and both had thier own placenta and cord.. Stupid doctors…

So true. Everyone ‘assumed’ I was having a csection because it was twins, even when I came into the hospital, and more so because baby B was breech, but I was adament and vocal about it, as long as there was no distress, etc. of course, & at 37 wks had a natural vaginal birth, of my twins. Granted the OR was a frenzy of people who wanted to see, so I could tell it was quite a rarity, but it shouldn’t be. My best birth experience EVER!

How inspirational! My first and only birth was a waterbirth at home and I believed that if I would have twins I’d not be able to birth at home. I now truly hope that if that situation should arise that I can give birth at home with multiples as well.

@iloveburningthings77 VBAC = Vaginal Birth after Cesarean.
July 19th, 2010 at 5:16 am
@WeePixie PROM=Pre mature rupture of membranes, meaning your water broke and VBAC is Vaginal birth after Cesarean. Meaning she had a c-section with another child before her pregnany with multiples.

@pipersanimations2009 Dunno. I put out some calls for people who were willing to be in the video, and these are the pictures I got back.

how come they’re all white?

Wow, this was an amazing video. My only question (being non-pregnant… yet) is what were the terms?? (PROM, VBAC etc…)

too many ppl treat pregnancy as a disease and fear it. it something that women have done for so long and this video makes me proud of being a woman. We can do this, we were built to do this. Im having my first kid in Sept and im not going to have any drugs. i know i can do this.

Wow, how inspiring! I thought pushing a singleton, 9lb1oz sunny-side up baby out for my first natural delivery was hard. With my second child due anytime and this really is encouraging! The most surprising was the lady who had twins weighing over 9lbs each and the lady who delivered her triples at home. Outstanding job to all the mommies! If I ever have multiples I would love to go all natural with them, too.

I’ve never left a comment for a youtube video before, but I had to say thanks for this – these women are wonderful examples of what birthing moms are capable of. Thank you!

I was really inspired by this video.. I had my twins on February 22. No csection.. Even with my son born breach. I was soooo proud and blessed. Sam and Sarah were born at 37 weeks and 4 days Sarah 6lbs 7oz and Samuel 6lbs 4oz

I have to say that I’m inspired by this video! I’m not pregnant with twins, but I do want to have a VBAC with this pregnancy which will be my second child! I am a twin. I’m 28 years old and my mother had us naturally with no pain meds. So if it was done 28 years ago……I know it can be done now. I’m really thinking about taking the plunge and going with the Bradley method with this baby! I’m nervous but excited at the same time. Good job on the video!!

this is great! i’m a huge supporter of natural deliveries and to see so many mommies of multiples who were willing to go for it is inspirational. Of course, i understand that not every woman or birth should be this way, but for those who are able it is truly worth the time and effort to organize. God bless!

Thanks for this video! I wish I would have known it when I was pregnant with my twins! My sons were both born at home, naturally and unmedicated in my bathtub when we were in week 40 and two days over, and all was well! I love how you encourage future twin moms to trust in the power of their bodies and souls!

Well, maybe it isn’t a matter of ”you can’t” –but a matter of what is safest for Mother & Baby…WHY RISK IT?

I not only had to favorite this but comment as well. I have dreamed of twins for a few years now. I am a mother of two boys 7yrs apart they would love a sibling and I am believing to marry, have a set of twins and especially go full term. I have even thought of home births a time or two so this video was really encouraging that when I do become pregnant w/ my twins I too can deliver natural not fearing c-sections or high blood pressure or breech birth! TRUELY truely thanx for the post

When Kathryn had the triplets, baby A (Coy) was born at 1:30 pm, baby B (Max) was born 10 hours later and breech. Baby C (Lily) was vertex and born about 15 minutes later. Even though she didn’t go to 40 weeks, she got real close and delivered just under 37 weeks. Thank you for making this hpnvideo.

Thank you for sharing! i’m pregnant with twins and doctors immediately told me they were scheduling a c-section… I am against that. Your video reassured me that it can be done. thanks again!
