Water birth of Dylan Meade
By
This is the birth of our second son, Dylan.. born in beautiful Landstuhl, Germany [husband stationed here for Air Force] on 30 june 2009!
My first child was brought into the world with the help of pitocin, stadol && epidural (that video is also on here!)..thought i would try an au natural drug free water birth and sure enough, I DID IT! && you can too, I promise! The-most-amazing-experience-OF-MY-LIFE!
Very very empowering as a woman! If anyone has ANY questions for me, I would more than happy to answer them! Shoot me a message!

This was a lovely video. I’m 33 weeks and 4 days pregnant with my first baby and I’d really like a water birth as I think it’ll be a lot more relaxing than a hospital birth. Does the water really help with the contractions and labour pain? I’m thinking I might have gas and air too, and if it’s too painful, pethidine. But only if absolutely necessary. My little princess is due on 3rd March. Any info you can give me, I’d be really greatful. Well done and congratulations on your lovely little boy x

thanks! yes I’ll think about what you told me when in labor, above all during late labor/transition, they said that is the toughest part. I took some classes of the Natural CHildbrith, Bradley Method, so I hope that can help as well. my due date is Nov 19,09!! so lets see what happens I will let you know! BTW i just have some questions about underwater…i was wondering what would you dou if you happen to need the bathroom while in labor, should you get out of the bathtub to go? Thanks again!

Being active duty in the military I don’t believe you are allowed to venture off base, I think you have to deliver in the military hospital
But certainly look into it when the day comes… I have had both experiences and this was, by far, the better choice. It honestly changed me as a person.. Good luck!

Great job! I am also in the Air Force. I have always wanted to have a water birth. I wasn’t sure how that would work out. I know it sounds silly (I don’t have any children), but I didn’t know that it would be possible to have a water birth while being stationed overseas….bless you and your beautiful family! Thanks for the video!

Beautiful! How did you like the waterbirth? Was your first son born out of water, did you have an epidural?
Did you mentally prepare for a natural birth? Would your recommend this to first time moms?
Thanks.

It’s a stretchy gauze-like ‘belt’ that holds the foetal monitor in place so the baby’s heartrate can be closely watched… hope you don’t mind my answering that for you!!
