Breastfeeding and nipples hurt when i get cold?
ByI’ve been breastfeeding for only a week now and every time i get cold my nipples hurt? why? is this normal?

Yeah, its normal. They get hard when you’re cold, and the sudden compression can make them hurt. Its more relaxing when the baby makes them do that.

Probably just something to do with how they haven’t toughened up yet and are still tender – trust me, the pain gets worse!

Yes; its normal. They are just sensitive because you are barely beginning, but it will get easier. Try lanolin cream each time you nurse the first two months, preferably the Lansinoh brand, then only once every day or so thereafter.

when its cold your nipples become erect. the erection triggers the let-down responses in your nipples. this is when the nipple tightens in order to squeeze the milk down into the nipple in order for the baby fo feed.
the feeling is kind of painful but you will get used to it and after a few months the let-down reflex becomes less intense therefore less painful.

The same thing happens to me so I am going to say it’s normal.
