How early did your period return after you had a baby, and were you breastfeeding?
ByMine returned after six weeks, I read that if your period returns earlier than 3 months while breastfeeding means youre not making enough milk, is this true?? Im already on my second period since baby and he is only 9weeks old.

Mine did not come back for 11 months, but I was on the minipill, as well. I have heard so many different times for different people. If your baby has plenty of wet diapers and seems to be content and gaining weight, you have enough milk. At this age his BMs may slow down, some bf babies just have a huge BM every few days, mine did, so I would go by wet diapers/wathcing your baby.

It’s said that the more you breastfeed the longer it will take for your period to come, and the less you breastfeed the sooner you will get your period. But every woman is different.

Go to the bottom where it says “When your period returns.”
It’s nothing to worry about.

I dont think it has so much to do with the quantity of milk produced, but more to do with the frequency and length of feedings. If your LO seems full and content, is gaining weight and having plenty of wet and soiled nappies, then its ok!
Also it can vary from person to person when your period returns. For some people if they are not nursing round the clock every 2/3hrs, then the drop in hormone level is just enough to allow your period to return. So if your baby feeds less frequently, or has started sleeping longer at night, is being offered bottles for some feeds, or uses a dummy to soothe themselves as opposed to using the breast like a pacifier… then you could start your cycle again. Its not anything to worry about.
My period returned 6mths after birth when my daughter started eating more solids and feeding less frequently and sleeping through the night. Before this she would feed very often round the clock and waking often lol!
Hope this helps x

As long as baby is gaining weight, your milk is fine. My daughter was exclusively breastfed for seven months, and I got my period six weeks postpartum, and have not missed one since.
