Is it normal to have period so soon after giving birth while breastfeeding?
ByI gave birth five weeks ago. I am breastfeeding. I supplement with bottles when out with the family where breastfeeding would be difficult. Mostly, though she is breasted. Three days ago I started what seems to be a light period. Most women I know that have given birth didn’t get their period for at least a few months… and for breastfeeding mothers it was even longer. Is my bleeding normal or could this be something to worry about?

as i put it, you just lost the breast feeding lottery, lol! i started with a light light period about 6 weeks post partum too, despite exclusively breastfeeding my son. the OB told me nothing to worry about, you’re just “extra fertile”
however, beware! when i got a regular, heavy period about nine months post partum it was murder. so, if you’re a working mum, save some sick time for down the road, the first regular period is killer and deserving of a day off!
