My daughther is 2 months old, is it possible for her to learn how to breastfeed all over again?
ByI stopped breastfeeding when she was two weeks old and i noticed i still have milk coming in and want to give her the breastmilk again. Is it possible for her to learn how to breastfeed all over again? Any other mothers been through this before?

It is possible, but it will take patience and some work on your part. She should be able to latch on without any problems, but you will have to let her nurse whenever she wants for your milk supply to come back in strong again. Although on demand nursing is always best anyways…but I think it’s great that you are willing to give it a try again.
Good luck – stick with it…

There is certainly no harm in trying, but I wouldn’t rate your chances of success very highly. The reality is that sucking milk from a breast is much harder work for the baby than sucking formula from a bottle through a rubber teat – the majority of babies realise this very quickly and are unwilling to go back to the hard work involved in being breast-fed.
Good luck to you both if you choose to try.

You would be amazed at what babies can learn. I would go ahead and give it a try if you have a milk supply. It just depends on how much time you want to spend with her to help her learn it all over again. Plus it could never hurt.

it is very possible. i haven’t been through it myself but it can be done
“What if baby will not latch? Keep working at it – some babies have gone back to the breast after many months of bottle feeding. Even if you are not able to persuade baby to latch, you have the option of re-establishing your milk supply via pumping and giving baby your milk via bottle or cup (this is called exclusive pumping).”

Just keep trying. Offer her the breast every time she’s hungry. She’s still so young, she may have no problem at all. Call your local hospital or birth center tomorrow and ask for a contact for breast feeding support person. Enjoy your baby!

Absolutely! You can do it. It’s called relactation.
Good for you for working to give your daughter the best!

It is possible to learn but it is going to take patience. some baby’s will pick it up quickly and others take a little bit longer just don’t give up and you will be able to do it.

yep it is. I tried to breastfeed my son, but couldn’t cuz we had so many problems. So i pumped only. I put him on when he wqas a few months old and he took to it pretty well. She may be nipple confused at first so it may take some practice. I kionda went back to pumping because it was easier, but when the pump wasn’t stimulating it enough, tried to put him on AGAIN at 5 months. Dont try to introduce her too old, because at 5 months, he absolutely refused! He screamed and cried and bite me so hard just putting my boob near his mouth. 2 months is a great age to do it again. It may help[ to get a pump as well, because if you have been giving formula this whole time you might not have much milk. Feed her and pump in between feeding. Pump or feed every hour or hour in a half.

Dear friend,
Yes, it is certainly possible for your daughter learn how to be breastfeed. There are many techniques you could use. My advise is contact some of the “La leche league” mothers in your local area (see http://www.lalecheleague.net/public).
Even though my 4 year old daughter refused to be breastfeed
after 10 days she was born (physicians said I had not milk!!), with la leche league’s help I successed to breastfeed my until she was almost 3.
I strongly recommend you to contact la leche league people.
Cheers
