Do you think that adoption forums have a noticeable difference between the amount of males compared to females posting? If so, why do you think this is the case?

Why do so many people seem to think they have an obligation to tell adoptees how they should feel about their adoption?

That we should be grateful, happy, and love our adoptive parents?

What are they so scared of?
For people who want to answer like “Freedom” did;’ at least you were not tied to the back of a car and dragged naked through the middle of town answers’

Would you talk to someone who wasn’t adopted like that?

So i have finally found what i want in life and what i love to do which is help kids, teens and young adults. I have always wanted to work for an adoption agency so should I study psychology or sociology? Help!
I DON’T want to separate kids from their parents. I wanted to work for an adoption agency to give them homes and interview the parents. Sorry if I confused anyone in my wording.

I see this frequently. Rape and murder are horrific offenses!!! Adoption is a lifesaver, not a horrific violent event. Does anyone join me in my outrage about these constant comparisons!!!!!!!!

my older brother is adopted,he has been since before he was born or whatever. Anyway, he is 17 and it turns out he’s bipolar. When my parents adopted him, it was kind of a closed adoption, they weren’t allowed to know my brothers parents’ last names and stuff. now, since being bipolar is often inherited, is there any way to find your parents through closed adoption without any fees or anything?

Here is our criteria – we want to adopt an infant boy (preferably white – we are not racist, but we want the child to match our family to avoid tension and confusion for the child)

We want to have a closed or semi-open adoption (with very little to no contact with the birth mother)

And we don’t want to get scammed by a birthparent who “changes her mind” at the last minute.

What do you think we should do?

What are some good things that come from adoption? There are way too many negative questions about adoption on here.

Is anyone happy with their adoption?
I honestly am not trying to be pumped up or make anyone that had a bad experience feel worse. It is just that on Yahoo Answers it seems to be a very negative category. I just wanted to remind everyone it is not all bad. Thanks for your help in doing that!

I have a friend that her nephew has been placed in foster care. They are going to give her custody of the child. The biological mother’s rights are going to be terminated. Does this mean if she has custody the child can go through an private adoption with me being the adoptee or does this mean that the state has to put the child up for adoption and I apply for adoption through them?

And if you had any other information on adoption, it’d be mighty helpful.
