Water birth is a concept which has become the biggest sensation as it offers a different revolutionary method of giving birth to a child. It is a method of giving birth which involves being immersed in water. Various protagonists and medical institutes vouch for this method and the benefits it offers to both mother and the infant. Despite being unconventional many women have been considering the option of water birth.
Water birth is a latest phenomenon which offers a chance to the mom-to-be to relax and recover from the physical angst which comes with the pain of contractions. Being submerged in water helps the mother to take time needed for opening and stretching muscles and tissues. The mother also has the benefit of to move and change position which would assist her in descending the infant.
Being immersed in water also helps in opposing the gravitational forces as it supports the mother’s weight which further means that the saved energy can be used for coping with the contractions. The water also benefits the mother by relaxing the pelvic floor muscles along with stimulating the touch and temperature nerve fibers in the skin. All these help the mother to relax and focus on the labor in a more progressive manner.
Medical theories have proved that newborn babies make strong forceful movements of their own accord and as they come to the surface they should be immediately lifted so that the infants’ body is clear of the water. Doctors allow the partner to be present during the water birth so that the child is welcomed by both the parents with a skin to skin cuddle.
It is highly advisable to go in for water birth only after the doctor permits so otherwise complications may step in. It is also important to select a hospital which offers the water birth facility and has medically trained staff available during the process.

Top 10 Structured Functional And Altered Water Products Everyone Should Avoid
I have determined that there are ten categories of structured and functional water products that can be defined as altered. The term altered is in contrast to natural that is associated with M-Water. The eleventh category is high quality clean drinking water. The twelfth category is M-Water and is the only natural water created with technology based on duplicating the forces of nature under ideal circumstances to create what I often refer to as Perfect Living Water.

The Superiority of Reverse Osmosis Based Pure Drinking Water Systems
Reverse Osmosis water treatment has been maligned on these pages. Strawman arguments have been used to claim that the minerals removed by RO membranes leave the water in an unnatural condition not fit for consumption. What hogwash. The RO detractors fail to consider a little thing called RAIN. Folks have been collecting and drinking low mineral rain water for thousands of years. Effective RO systems always include chlorine removal before and often after the RO membrane. Next-RO is a winner.

CAESAREAN BIRTHS: ARE WOMEN TOLD THE TRUTH?
Caesarian sections in the U.S. hit a record high for the eleventh year in a row –averaging about one-third of births nationally, up from 26 percent in 2002 and 5 percent in 1970. Doctors argue that C-sections are safer for the baby, but the statistics are otherwise in low or no risk mothers. The March of Dimes is campaigning to empower women with information so that they can have informed discussions with their obstetricians well before delivery.

How to approach someone you think has lied to you?
Posted by: | CommentsQuestion by Larimarlady: How to approach someone you think has lied to you?
Quite a complicated issue here for you to consider. I have a friend who has always talked about how tough her life has been. Indeed it seems that she has been dealt a real bum deal in life. Recently she had told me she was pregnant with twins which ended being ectopic and she had to have a termination. A month later she told me she was pregnant again with twins, again. As I’d sold my car I couldn’t go a visit her (she lives quite some distance from me) but I kept in regular contact with her to see how she was doing. Around the date she was due to have the twins (she’d said 25 March) she messaged me telling me that they were now late and she was tired of the pregnancy. The next day a message to say her waters had broken, then the next day that one of the twins had died in a “complicated birth”. She said they had weighed 4pounds, 6 ounces and 4 pounds 3 ounces respectively. The next day another message came stating the second child had died.
I visited her 5 days later and she said that the babies had been early, around 4 or 5 weeks early in fact. She behaved exactly how she normally behaved. She said that she was weighing 9 stones when she was pregnant, but somehow she was now down to 7 stones again since giving birth.
I suspected her since her due dates really didn’t match up and even though someone may have had a lot of bad things happen in their life, I can’t imagine that after having given birth, that someone would behave normally.
A complicated one, but what do you think?

Question by hayleylov: from the washington times maybe we should adopt their ilegal immigration policies go protest your own land?
The Mexican solution
FRANK J. GAFFNEY JR.
By Frank J. Gaffney, Jr.
April 4, 2006
The Congress has received lots of free advice lately from Mexican government officials and illegal aliens waving Mexico’s flag in mass demonstrations coast-to-coast. Most of it takes the form of bitter complaints about our actual or prospective treatment of immigrants from that country who have gotten into this one illegally — or who aspire to do so.
If you think these critics are mad about U.S. immigration policy now, imagine how upset they would be if we adopted an approach far more radical than the bill they rail against that was adopted last year by the House of Representatives — namely, the way Mexico treats illegal aliens.
In fact, as a just-published paper by the Center for Security Policy’s J. Michael Waller ( www.centerforsecuritypolicy.org/Mexicos_Glass_House.pdf) points out, under a constitution first adopted in 1917 and subsequently amended, Mexico deals harshly not only with illegal immigrants. It treats even legal immigrants, naturalized citizens and foreign investors in ways that would, by the standards of those who carp about U.S. immigration policy, have to be called “racist” and “xenophobic.”
For example, according to an official translation published by the Organization of American States, the Mexican constitution includes the following restrictions:
• Pursuant to Article 33, “Foreigners may not in any way participate in the political affairs of the country.” This ban applies, among other things, to participation in demonstrations and the expression of opinions in public about domestic politics like those much in evidence in Los Angeles, New York and elsewhere in recent days.
• Equal employment rights are denied to immigrants, even legal ones. Article 32: “Mexicans shall have priority over foreigners under equality of circumstances for all classes of concessions and for all employment, positions or commissions of the Government in which the status of citizenship is not indispensable.”
• Jobs for which Mexican citizenship is considered “indispensable” include, pursuant to Article 32, bans on foreigners, immigrants and even naturalized citizens of Mexico serving as military officers, Mexican-flagged ship and airline crew, and chiefs of seaports and airports.
Article 55 denies immigrants the right to become federal lawmakers. A Mexican congressman or senator must be “a Mexican citizen by birth.” Article 91 further stipulates that immigrants may never aspire to become cabinet officers, as they are required to be Mexican by birth. Article 95 says the same about Supreme Court justices.
In accordance with Article 130, immigrants — even legal ones — may not become members of the clergy, either.
• Foreigners, to say nothing of illegal immigrants, are denied fundamental property rights. For example, Article 27 states, “Only Mexicans by birth or naturalization and Mexican companies have the right to acquire ownership of lands, waters and their appurtenances, or to obtain concessions for the exploitation of mines or of waters.”
• Article 11 guarantees federal protection against “undesirable aliens resident in the country.” What is more, private individuals are authorized to make citizen’s arrests. Article 16 states, “In cases of flagrante delicto, any person may arrest the offender and his accomplices, turning them over without delay to the nearest authorities.” In other words, Mexico grants its citizens the right to arrest illegal aliens and hand them over to police for prosecution. Imagine the Minutemen exercising such a right.
• The Mexican constitution states that foreigners — not just illegal immigrants — may be expelled for any reason and without due process. According to Article 33, “the Federal Executive shall have the exclusive power to compel any foreigner whose remaining he may deem inexpedient to abandon the national territory immediately and without the necessity of previous legal action.”
to pancho what a load of crap this is what you have to say wow so different rules and your here protesting instead of mexico oh its ok because were a poor what about the poor people who are trying to better their lives by getting into mexico because their country is even poorer its ok for mexicans but not anyone else sounds like mexicans are corrupt and they are bringing those values here no thanks

Is this normal and I’m just freaking out or do I need professional help?
Posted by: | CommentsQuestion by Drea: Is this normal and I’m just freaking out or do I need professional help?
For the past month I have been extremely worried about when my baby is born. No not the normal “I’m scared to give birth” worries because I am not. I know that it can’t be avoided and am being practical about it. Not worried about losing all this extra baby weight cause I know eventually it will come off.
I’ll start off by going back to when I was 10 and my little brother was born. Was so excited it was like having a real life baby doll! My mom would let me hold him only while sitting down even though I swore that I would be careful and not drop him. Well my little sister had fell off her bike outside and was hurt while my mom was tending to her my little brother started screaming for momma so I picked him up and walked outside with him so he could see momma. I was in the drive way walking toward the road where my mom was with my sister. I tripped and even being 10 my first Instinct was to put my arms around flat on his back and have his head cradled in my hands while I fell. So I could protect him the best I could. He wasn’t hurt but of course a sudden fall is going to startle a baby and he started crying freaking out I started inspecting him making sure he was ok. It was maybe a few seconds before my mom had scooped him up and started yelling at me. Yelling scares me always has and I don’t take being yelled at well so I ran in my room and locked the door my mom tending to my brother and sister didn’t realize that I was hurt pretty badly I didn’t even realize it until I had calmed down a little bit. My brother was fine I had stopped him from getting hurt. My mom heard me running the water in the bath tub and came to investigate I thought she was going to yell more no she saw the scrapes and cuts all over my body and helped me clean them.
I have not walked with a baby in my arms since been too scared and I know since this is my child and I am doing this on my own there is no choice it has to be done. I was able to deal with that until recently I’ve been having these dreams. Where I’d be walking in the store, my house, down the stairs, on an escalator at the mall, and tripping on a bridge and my child falls threw the boards supporting it. Should I get counseling for this before my child is born? If so I don’t suppose there are free councilors, and I don’t have money to pay for one I’m about to have a baby. I’m 35 weeks pregnant.

It’s perfectly normal to have all kinds of worries when you are pregnant. You will be fine. What happened to you was so many years ago and you were just a kid. Stuff happens, you’ll be fine.

Home births? I’m a little scared?
Posted by: | CommentsQuestion by Charlotte248: Home births? I’m a little scared?
Hi everyone. Im currently expecting a baby girl (this is my 1st) who will be named Shea Isabella (Shea pronounced like Shay). My due date is approaching (im 38 weeks) and the doctor says little Shea could come any day now. My husband and i were recently preparing for the birth and i told him i was scared about delivering, like what if something goes wrong and how much its going to hurt and everything, so he said “Well if it’ll make you more comfortable, we could always have a home birth”. And im thinking its a good idea. Am i right? Should i have a home birth?
~And by the way, i already have a midwife who has been working with me and getting me ready for the delivery. And i have been attending birthing classes regularly.~
Also, would it be a good idea to get a birthing tub so i can deliver in the water?

Guppy birthing red circle/orb things, instead of fry, what on earth are they?
Posted by: | CommentsQuestion by lilmissess: Guppy birthing red circle/orb things, instead of fry, what on earth are they?
I have now been keeping fish for a year and I have been through some hellish battles with disease; I’m not so sure this is a disease. Yet, I can’t find anything on the internet when I search. I have never heard of a guppy birthing these red circular liquid things. Please help me find out what it is.
I have a ready to pop guppy with a large gravid spot, and this morning I observe a guppy showing the signs of the birthing process. She wouldn’t take food and secluded herself from the others in the floating plants. I was excited because after the hundreds of fry my fish have spawned, I have never seen the process. Well I sit patiently waiting for fry to come out, when I see her “birth” four small red orbs, which floated to the bottom of the tank. She also ate one, and a liquid escaped the red circle, possibly a rosy color. At least 10 more were released. I did find 2 or 3 new fry, but I don’t know if they came from her as there are several new females in my tank.
Does annnyyone know what these things are?
In addition: I have fought with and won over camallanus worms, that was the worst, but I beat it with powdered levamisole and sheer determination. I am now dealing with an itchy batch of guppies from petsmart (yes I know petsmart equals evil but someone has to save those poor fish) ….. I am treating with coppersafe.
Cycled over 3 months, 75 gallon, rectangular with a decent wideness. Odyssea canister filer…. Ph questionable…. doing a water change this afternoon. Starting to get a bloom of black algae.
Hell while I’m at it, what the hell causes BLACK algae?
Thanks guys. I really appreciate the time you took to read my issue and address it; my fish thank you as well!

Answer by gustavo r
i will answer this question in the shortest way possible.
The red orbs are not a parasite, fungus, or a sickness. They are aborted babies. They did not form in the fishes “womb” and stayed like so. if you saw the newborns recently, then yes they are from the guppy. Usually my fry will have these orbs once in a while… and its not necessarily a bad thing. it just meant they werent fully formed (like deformation in human babies). the guppy pretty much aborted them. You do know that guppies, mollies, platies, swordtails, endlers are the only “livebearer fish” right?
ok…
the black algea is just another manifistation of any algea, and i heard that if you have a less planted tank, and a certain species of fish (catfish) they will likely grow. its unknown why and if the mentioned is true or not.

good luck!

For mommies that had a C-section?
Posted by: | CommentsQuestion by Alexander’s mommy
: For mommies that had a C-section?
This woman had asked why do women think c-sections are so bad
& i read the responses & a woman put “OH SOME WOMEN MIGHT FEEL LIKE FAILURES AS WOMEN BECAUSE THEY COULDN”T HAVE A VAGINAL BIRTH”
would you be offended by this statement??
i had a c-section & im very offended
i don’t consider myself less of a woman because i had to have a c-section
i consider myself lucky that i was given the privilege of being a mother
my baby’s heartbeat was too high & i had to have an emergency c-section because i couldn’t push him out fast.. he had pooped inside of me too even though a vaginal tube was placed inside of me to clear out the poop there was still risk for an infection & my water had been broken at 6pm on a friday night & i was ready to push at 8:30 am on sat morning
since i was under so much pressure to push out my son fast i wasn’t even allowed 20 min of pushing..
so i BEGGED/CRIED for a c-section my only concern was my son’s safety
im thankful that everything went fine during my c-section & my baby wasn’t born with an infection
it wasn’t how i hoped it went because i had been in the hospital for two days already getting induced in various different ways.. & at the end all that for nothing..
BUT i don’t consider myself like a failure as a woman
im a wonderful mommy to my son & i don’t think it matters how you get your lil one out.. the important thing is to get your lil one out safely..

MY GUPPY WAS PREGNANT AND NOW SHE’S..SKINNIER…?!?
Posted by: | CommentsQuestion by Pretty Princess: MY GUPPY WAS PREGNANT AND NOW SHE’S..SKINNIER…?!?
ok ok before you say “she gave birth” i think something different is happening. ok so i bought her last week and she was pregnant when i got her. i also bought a non pregnant guppy that same day. anyways she was sorta big when i got her and i planned for her to give birth any time soon. and this weekend i planned for her to give birth BUT since my friend was hosting a sleepover i had to say yes because she a good friend and there’s another LONG story that goes with it lol. anyways when i left on friday morning i fed them and saw my preggers guppy acting normal and stuff she was pretty big BUT still had room in her tummy i saw the little clear stuff that indicates she could hold them in for a few more days. by clear stuff i meant “extra” room in her tummy. hard to explain.
anyways no one fed my fishes(1 male and 2 female guppies) for 2 days. but i thought that it was okay. when i came home on saturday after noon around 4:10pm i saw that my very pregnant guppy has shrunken! i was very disappointed cause i wanted to see the baby fry. anyways as i looked closer i saw that her gravid spot looked THE EXACT SAME!!! but the big bulge is gone. so i was wondering wheather she really gave birth or if she just starved,?
i dont know.
but my male keeps on following that guppy and like a few times he would get close enough to do this weird thing. like his fin would go in her or atleast very near her and she would jerk away. this happened a few times.and he keeps chasing her even though there is anothe female in the tank.
she has the TINIEST bulge ever though barely noticable. but it is there.
is she pregnant? i did a water change yesterday and couldnt find a fry anywhere! i know they will get eaten (that is my plan) but really..come on! not even ONE fry is left!!!! in the tank!
not even a fry body! so did she really give birth? i have ghost shrimp and african dwarf frogs in my 6 gallon tank! i have 3 plastic plants and 2 hiding decor items.
sooo they could have hidden but i doubt it. and when should i put her in the breeding tank? i bought one. today. i want them to get eaten but i dont want the to get sucked up the filter, so i will keep them for a few hours in the breeding tank. and then let them go. what should i give the new born fry? all i have is fish food. flakes. so should i crush them up alot and put them in the breeding tank?
when should i put her in the breeding tank? and did she give birth? if she didnt then whats happening? and what should i give the fry (they are not here yet but im going to be prepared lol) and anything else?
HELP ME THANKYOU!!!!!!!!!
ok ok stop telling me to get a different tank cause i wont. so stop.
and why is my male only bugging that female.
and im 99.9% sure she was pregnant because i bought her like that. and she has a gravid spot
so when should i put her in the breeding trap thing?
Best answer:
Answer by Sarah
Two days is quite a long time for the other fish in your tank to have eaten the fry, especially if your tank is not planted. She could have given birth, or she could have just been bloated prior to the couple days of fasting, which helped clear out her system.
First of all, a 6g tank is way too small to even think about breeding guppies. For two females and a male, the minimum would be a 15g tank, more if you’re planning on raising the fry in the tank.
A breeding tank is not good because you have to net the pregnant female, and put her in a totally different environment that might not even be pregnant. Most guppy breeders either put the female in too early and she never gets pregnant, or too late and she ends up experiencing a miscarriage, and probably dying in the process.
If you don’t want the fry to get sucked up by the filter, put a sponge over it. Fry grow best when given lots of protein, baby brine shrimp is the best option when they’re young. If that’s not possible, then crush up the adult flakes into very fine powder and sprinkle that over the main tank at least two times a day.
I highly recommend getting a bigger tank. Your guppies might not breed due to the stress from a small environment. Guppies are active fish that need a lot of swimming space, so aggression might occur more than mating.

his hands grasp me, almost breaking me.
I’m caught in an unsolvable time,
his breath hits me, almost waking me.
My eyes open to another land,
all was somber and silent.
Yet scurrying foot steps filled the space,
deep shadows playing violent.
Clear as the sun glare on my glasses,
darkness made it hard to see.
My jumping gasp filled the air,
feeling two familiar hands on me.
The man who went in clean,
treading through high water.
Now filled with mud so high,
blaming everything on his daughter.
My head filled with the coloured red,
a new bruise forming on my face.
On the outside I could not speak,
only a mere huff left it’s trace.
My eyes did beam into his,
hoping he would forgive.
But I’m a child, another mistake,
and a time you can’t relive.
I’m brainwashed into walking guilty,
do u find me holding worth?
He screamed the words that I always here
“Keep your darn mouth shut, your just a piece of unwanted birth”
I really struggled at the end, I couldn’t make it flow right. Maybe u can help?
Well I’m not a pro poet, so this must by why, no isn’t it?

It’s a good touch on the abusive father/child aspect. You should just change the last line so its shorter and flows smoother
