Natural Child Birth Using Hypnosis?
Posted by: | CommentsI am 5 months pregnant with my 3rd baby and after two vaginal deliveries I am considering a natural birth using hypnosis. My first labor was 22 hours and the second was 12 hours both with epidurals that did not work correctly. I have done some online searching but other than a regular birthing class at the hospital my options are limited concerning natural child birth classes in my area. I have found a home study course for Hypnobabies online and wanted to know if anyone had any experience with this class or with hypno birthing in general. I would love any suggestions and opinions!

I was also looking into the Bradley method but there are not any classes around here. I have the book Natural Childbirth the Bradley Way but was wondering if they have a “home study” type program like hypnobabies does. I would love to hear any experiences with either of the techniques!
Sorry, I just reread my question. I left out some words. I was wondering if any of you have tried hypnobabies. And any feedback about that course. Feedback about the Bradley method would be appreciated too!

Natural pain management for a natural birth?
Posted by: | CommentsIf you had a natural birth (No drugs whatsoever) what helped you the most? Have any of you done water birth, bradley or hypnobabies? What do you recommend? This will be a homebirth with a CNM and I am planning on a water birth.
I would like advice from moms who have done drug-free natural births, please. If you have only given birth with an epidural or are going to recommend one this question is NOT for you, drugs are not an option for me for health reasons so even if I was giving birth in a hospital I would have to do it without en epi.
I will not get an episiotomy, my midwife almost never does them because most research shows tears heal better than a cut.

Birth-Day Regrets?
Posted by: | CommentsDo any you ladies have any regrets about your birth? Do you wish you would have opted for an epidural or wished you didn’t have any meds? etc. What are you going to try to change for the next time around? I would love to hear your birth stories too!
I am planning on laboring at home as long as possible. I will be delivering at the hospital but with my midwife. She is awesome and I can’t wait. I am also going to be studying (as soon as it comes in the mail) the Hypnobabies Homestudy Course. I am very excited!

Posted by: | CommentsI’m considering one or both for when my baby comes, but I’d like to hear from you if you’ve tried either one. Was it “worth it”? Would you do it again? Would you recommend it? Did it help you and/or your baby?
Just an FYI- it will be a waterbirth at a hospital for me, not at home or in a birthcenter. I don’t have a midwife or a doula either, but I plan to run these things by the possible delivery doctors before the day arrives- I have plenty of time yet!

The hospital I will be delivering at will allow it- they have a permanent tub just for waterbirths there.
Hypnosis/Hypnobabies?

Has anyone successfully given birth using the Hypnobabies home study course OR is studying it right now? I am just curious how easy you found it and if your birth partner was able to study with you and become aware of your birthing method through the CDs.

Posted by: | CommentsI have been listening to the Hypnobabies tracks on my iPod. I plan on an unmedicated birth for my last son. I had epidurals with my last two and they were not for me. I had bad experiences with them. So I was wondering, does anyone have some words of encouragement, tips, or success stories from using hypnosis in childbirth?
