The symptoms of alcohol related liver disease are serious and include fluid in the abdomen, bleeding from veins in the esophagus, an enlarged spleen, high blood pressure in the liver, changes in mental function, coma, kidney failure and liver cancer. The first step in treatment is to stop drinking. A doctor may suggest changes in diet and certain vitamin supplements to help the liver recover from the alcohol-related damage. Medications may be needed to manage the complications caused by the liver damage.
Useful Herbs in the Treatment of Liver Care
1. Berberis (Berberis vulgaris)
Berberis is nicknamed as the jaundice berry for its beneficial effects on the treatment of jaundice. It is a bitter tonic which is made from the bark of the berberis tree. It is taken in amounts of quarter teaspoon when jaundice strikes.
2. Chicory (Chichorium intybus)
Chicory is one of the most useful herbs in treatment of liver problems. Almost all parts of the herb are important – flowers, seeds and roots. The juice of the chicory plant promotes the secretion of the bile. Hence it is used in different ways in treating liver problems such as bilary stasis, sluggishness of the liver, bile obstruction, jaundice and enlargement of the spleen.
3. Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale)
Dandelion stimulates the liver and the gall bladder for the proper utilization of fats within the body. It also helps in the detoxification of the liver. Its juice is used in treatment of most liver problems. Even for people with hepatitis, dandelion tea is very beneficial.
4. Gokulakanta (Hygrophila spinosa)
This herb is used for treatment of several liver problems including jaundice, hepatitis and derangement of the liver. Its root is prescribed in such conditions. A specially prepared decoction of the root (60 grams root powder mixed in half a liter of water and boiled for about half an hour) is given in doses of 30 to 60 milliliters twice or thrice daily.
5. Henna (Lawsonia inermis)
The cooling effect of the henna is also beneficial in the treatment of liver problems. Its bark is effective in the treatment of liver problems such as jaundice and enlargement of the liver.

If The Wealth Of The Wicked Is Stored Up For The Just, Then Why Are You So Broke? Part 1
Posted by: | CommentsThose of us that have been in Christian circles, longer than 10 years have heard that there would be a great transfer of wealth coming to the “righteous”, according to Proverbs 13: 22 (Amp) (’…and the wealth of the sinner (finds its way eventually) into the hands of the righteous, for whom it was laid up).
So why are so many people barely getting by, if not, facing being homeless, especially in America? I believe part of the answer is that people have never been taught “how to get the wealth” that is stored up for them.
Preachers, evangelists, teachers and prophets, have all said at one time or another, that God would pour out His blessings upon you, in such a powerful way, you won’t have room to contain it, (which most people, including myself, believed that in would be in the form of cash and checks).
For years, I heard the same message, and got excited just like you, believing “This is going to be the week it happens!” or “I’m going to get that raise or promotion, I been waiting for…today!” And we get all pumped up that Sunday morning, having enough faith to even raise the dead, only to find the opposite circumstances come crashing in on Monday morning.
Suddenly, you find yourself being “passed over” for that promotion you were expecting. Or you didn’t get that job you needed. Or lost that contract you were bidding on. Or something major breaks in your home or on your car, that would strap your finances for the next 3 months! Has that happened to you or I’m I the only one?
Even after hearing, “…the wealth of the wicked is laid up for the just..” and that you’re going to get financial prosperity beyond your imagination? How does that make you feel after hearing a great message of breakthrough and prosperity, only to face hardship the next day?
When that happened to me, (in the beginning), my level of faith and excitement was high enough to overcome it, and say, “It’ll be better tomorrow.” Or “God has something better for me.” Etc. you get the picture. We tend to rationalize the things we don’t understand.
After awhile, you begin to believe, “Well, maybe it was for that person, or that one, but not me.” Or you just begin to doubt period! I mean think about it, it’s true, if there are 100 people in a service, odds are at least 1 person is going to experience “financial prosperity”, after the service.
Now, don’t get me wrong, as I’m telling you this, I still believe God’s Word is true and will stand over everything, but I feel “man” gets in there and distorts His word and takes things out of context.
In the past, preachers were saying, “This is the year of Abundance!” or “This is the year of Overflow!” Or “This is the year of Jubilee!”. Well, how many of you experienced those years of riches and debt freedom?
I’d say most of the preachers and evangelists saw financial explosions in their ministries in those years, because they told us what we wanted to hear. They gave us hope and in return, we gave them an offering. So, now their ministries are debt free…coincidence?
Do I regret giving in those ministries? No, not at all. In fact, I did see some “instant rewards” from my giving, but I wasn’t giving to a “man”, but a cause. I was giving into the kingdom and believe God would convict those that didn’t use that money for the cause. God will not be mocked!
Anyway, I believe the number one reason that people have not received there financial abundance, is because they we’re never taught how to get it.
Sure, you were told from the pulpit, that you need to give, in order to receive and you need to live “right” towards God and people, but that’s only half of the story.

We live in the “world system”, which is a system, designed to oppress, depress, tear down, stagnate, over bill, over tax, over spend, and take from anyone at anytime, so you can not get ahead in life.
For example, how many times have you received a bonus check, from the government or your work place? You were counting on that check to go towards your vacation (a time of peace and relaxation), only to find out your transmission is out in your car, and it’s going to cost you more than your bonus check to cover the expense? It could have been the washer and dyer, the leaky roof, the child’s sickness or whatever.
The world system is designed to keep people oppressed. My goal, has always been to break free of the “system”, so I’m not subjected to the “system’s rules”. What does that mean? It’s means taking control of your destiny and creating enough wealth for you, your family, and your “neighbor”, so you would never have lack or ask the government for help.

A Healthy You and A Healthy Baby

Folic acid can be found in multivitamins as well as in food. This is important because it can decrease the risk of neural tube, which later develops into the baby’s brain and spinal cord, defect such as spina bifida. Studies have shown that healthy women who start taking a multivitamin regularly before pregnancy also reduce the risk of preeclampsia, or toxemia. Toxemia is where the mother’s blood pressure shoots up to dangerous levels and could prove lethal to mother and baby.
The food we eat may not contain the proper amounts of vitamins and minerals our bodies need. A multivitamin will add those important nutrients to our diet. Taking a multivitamin before and through the first trimester of pregnancy will provide the mother and baby with proper nutrition and lessen the risk of malnutrition. Taking a multivitamin does not mean that you can eat a diet that is lacking the nutrients your body needs. Multivitamins are meant to supplement, and not the sole source of these nutrients. Although women need to eat plenty of healthy foods before and during pregnancy, once she is pregnant there are certain foods a woman should stay away from. Women should avoid soft, unpasteurized cheeses, unpasteurized milk, juices, and apple cider, foods containing raw eggs, raw or undercooked meats, fish containing high levels of mercury, and processed meats.
In addition to regularly taking a multivitamin, women should begin a weekly exercise routine. If your doctor says it is safe to do a low-impact exercise during pregnancy, it has been shown to be extremely beneficial. Exercise during pregnancy can prevent excess weight gain; reduce back pain, swelling and other pregnancy related problems; improve sleep; increase energy; and lessen recovery time. If you have an active lifestyle before pregnancy it is okay to continue, but with moderation. Most exercises are safe as long as you don’t overdo it. Safe exercises include swimming, walking, elliptical machines, and other low-impact exercises.
Even though you should drink more fluids while pregnant, women should stay away from caffeine and especially alcohol. Water is the best way to get enough fluids. Drinking more water is important. It helps flush out toxins in the body. It is recommended that women should drink at least one gallon of water a day. Water helps your body prepare for all the changes it is going through and alleviate and discomfort you may have. Studies have shown that if you drink more water, you will retain less water because you are properly hydrated. Drinking enough water helps protect the baby by keeping the amniotic sack wet. Adding to the list of benefits from drinking water is preventing premature birth and lessening morning sickness.
It is important for women to take care of their bodies before, during, and after they become pregnant.
Taking a multivitamin regularly before becoming pregnant will lessen their chances of delivering the baby prematurely. It will also lower the chances of malnutrition. Pregnancy is one of those times when the body needs water. It carries nutrients from you to the baby. Make sure you take the multivitamins, exercise and drink enough water for a happy and healthy baby.

What does morning sickness feel like, and how early did it start for you?
Posted by: | CommentsI know it makes you nauseous, but does it feel like the flu? Like indigestion? Like gas pains? And how early does it start? We’ve been trying for awhile and I’m a few days away from when my period is supposed to start. Is that too early to have morning sickness? Because I woke up at 5 with stomach pains and couldn’t go back to sleep and haven’t been able to eat anything yet.
Precautions When Raising Chickens During Summer and Winter
Posted by: | CommentsChickens seem so fragile. They seem without any survival characteristics. But that is not true 100%. They have some characteristics that allow them to pull it through and survive in harsh weather conditions. Of course, those traits depend on the chicken species.
Some chicken can withstand the harsh conditions of winter and other may like to do sunbaths. It depends on the type of chicken and on the weather he is accustomed with. So don’t waste your money and your precious time with a type of chicken that likes a different weather than the one you have. It may be very hard to raise chicken under difficult conditions.
The winter time
In this cold weather, many people try to heat the chickens. They think that they will do them good. But don’t try that if you want alive and healthy chickens.
They can catch a cold or even freeze. You may leave them healthy and safe and in the morning you can find them dead. For your information, keep in mind that chicken can adapt to difficult weather conditions. Their body has a changing metabolism that helps them survive during cold temperatures.
If the place where you live has a cold weather with harsh temperatures, you may want to take some precautions before bringing the chicken in. In this way, you will be ready for them and you will not put their lives in any danger.
Some of these actions are:
1. Sometimes, the low temperatures cause the comb or the wattle to have frostbites. If you want to prevent this from happening, you can rub a petroleum jelly or another kind of moisturizer on that place from time to time.
2. Make sure the water supply is not frozen. Depriving the chicken of water can seriously damage their health. If the water is frozen, the chickens will not get near eat and they can die without water. Also, make sure the water reserve has no impurities. The chicken can get diseases from those impurities. If there is a danger or freezing, get a heater and warm up the water. Make sure the water stays warm at all times. If you don’t posses a water heater, get the water inside your house and bring it to the chicken in the morning.
Summer time
If you have a house located in a place where there is summer all the time, the chicken can suffer form being exposed to heat all day long. They could be dehydrated and that is not good. The one thing and very important thing you need to do during summer is to make sure they have water all the time. Make sure the water is fresh and pure. Refill the supply whenever it is possible. Also, don’t let the chickens run around without providing them some shade. Also, you can provide some ventilation in their pen.
Another important thing is that when heat waves occur, the hens can lay excessive eggs. This is not a good sign. It means the hen is very stressed because of the heat. If the heat stops or the temperatures goes back to normal, the laying process will resume to normal.
Also, during extreme weather conditions it is good to observe the chickens for any abnormal behavior. Notice the way they walk, what they eat, how often they eat etc.
If you see one of them isolated in a corner or acting a bit strange, it means they have caught a disease. Get the chicken and put it in quarantine to prevent the disease from spreading.
The isolated animal also needs water, food and treatment. After he has recuperated, the sick chicken can return to the others.
Some symptoms of chicken sickness include: depression, sneezing, teary eyes, loss of appetite, mites, abnormal stools and the tendency to become isolated.
If you notice any of these signs, talk to the vet and get treatment for the chicken.
