I’m pregnant and I really need some answers.
Posted by: | CommentsI just found out that I am 6 weeks and 4 days pregnant. This is my first pregnancy so you can understand why i’m way more nervous than most. I have been trying to have a baby for a long time and I didn’t think i could have one due to prior ovarian problems. Anyway, I went to the ER because I was having very little light pink spotting accompanied by cramping. They did an ultra-sound and saw that the baby is fine and has a normal heart beat but there may be some hemorrhaging between the placenta and the uterine wall. The doctor didn’t really give me much information on it and diagnosed me with “Threatened Miscarriage” which scares me and i’m just sitting here confused. Has anyone gone through this or does someone have more information for me? I’m scared.
I want to thank EVERYONE for answering my question. All of your opinions are greatly appreciated i’m very thankful that you take time out of your day to help people like me cope with tough times!
please help me ! 10 points for best answer !?

12/7/09 – unprotected , used withdrawal but he said that he didnt even precum
12/10/09 – unprotected , used withdrawal method – slid out during penetration and immediately started to ejaculate
12/21/09 – got what i thought was my period however , it was way lighter than my normal AF and i didnt have any cramping at all which i ALWAYS get. also , it wasn’t a consistant flow. just gushes of blood every so often. i probably would’ve filled half a pantyliner (i put a pad on to keep track of it) it ended on 12/24 (the day AF was schedualed to arrive) my normal periods last about 5-7 days.
i took a pregnancy test – at the free clinic , which turned out to be negative. hoever , i read up on something called decidual bleeding. it’s caused by an imbalance in your hormones causing a person who is indeed pregnant to shed part of the uterine lining – before the placenta is completely attached. causing a women to think she is not pregnant. because the hormones are all out of whack it is said that decidual bleeding will throw off a urine pregnancy test (because its checking for the hormones) most women who experience decidual bleeding dont get a positive HPT until later on. i’m now experiencing extreme tiredness , sore breasts every couple of days it comes and goes , it SUPER sensitive to smells that never bothered me before , and i have had a couple of dizzy spells (i didnt think to much of it) does it sound like i could be pregnant? has anyone ever experienced anything like this? could anyone give me any advice. I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT IMPLANTATION SPOTTING. i also can feel a tight spot in my uterus , it feels like a small ball. i would be 6 weeks 5 days if i am indeed pregnant. thanks in advance ! and i really apologize about the length =)
Too soon for a test – But what do you think?
Posted by: | CommentsMy last period was July 3, 2009, My cycles are normally 33 days So that puts ovulation around the 19-24th My husband and I had sex the 13, 15,17,18,19 and either the 20th. Just once a day and used Pre-Seed and I stayed elevated for at least 20 minutes after each.
I know with all that there is a good chance I could be but I am not sure because of my fertility history. I had a uterine septum removed in May, IUD taken out in June and this is our first month trying after a 7 month fertility fixing detour.
Symptoms????
Headache (I normally only get them the day or two before my period starts)
Light Cramping (More like twinges)
Spotting about 8-10 days after first sex (It was light pink and only when I would wipe)
Discharge – I have had a lot what looks like cervical mucus (CM) for the last 2 weeks when normally I am very dry. I am sure part of that was ovulation but when I took a Ovulation Test the results were negative or null.
So Confused!!!
They said it was a likely miscarriage?
Posted by: | CommentsWell, if you have read past posts than you should know what has happened. I found out I was PG friday after I passed agreyish looknig clot that I assumed was pregnancy sign and now I am pretty sure it was my baby. I went to teh ER and my Beta levels were at a 47, to low, they said it was either to early in the pregnancy or at the end of a miscarraige. I had 3 ultrasounds. 2 of which show that my uterine lining is thickened and the way they described it, an indefinte embryo. When I asked the doctor if it could jsut be to early, he said that he HAS seen weirder things. But it looks like a miscarriage. I go for a folluw up tomorrow jsut to confirm it. I don’t get it. I had no cramping, no bleeding and only staining on TP. how the hell could I have had a miscarriage. They checked my cervix and said it was closed… is their hope. Pobably not… but I am so heartbroken. But that means I should get PG pretty quick…right… I am not spotting today anymore. and barely yesterday… do u thin
think the doctors got it right, could it still be to early? My urine test was negative. But friday it was postive, i heard and read and know that hospital PG tests aren’t as sensitive… what does anyone have to say? Iknow it probably was a miscarriage…but how, when? He said I will only bleed when Iam passing the tissue…but my cervix is still closed
I don’t get it… I just went to the ER to my mind at ease only to e told something I was scared of but didn’t really expect… if my beta was 47 yesterday that means I must have tested postive with a hpt with a level of close to 20…isn’t that to early to est postive with urine (only answer if you KNOW)
Question about contraction monitoring machine…?
Posted by: | CommentsOk so I am 34 weeks with my first baby and yesterday I went to my doctor’s office to get checked out because I was having mild back cramping that I had not experienced before during my pregnancy. (Turns out, baby is doing spectacular, but *I* have a bladder infection. Thank goodness it wasn’t preterm labor!) Anywho, they hooked me up to one of those machines that monitors the baby’s heart-rate and also measures my contractions. I noticed that part gaged all the way up to 100…I only had 1 solid BH contraction while I was hooked up, it was borderline uncomfortable, but not painful and it only registered like a 30. My “uterine activity” when not contracting at all stayed at around 8. So what do real labor contractions register as?! I know they are much more intense/painful usually so do they go all the way into the nineties, since the machine can measure them up to 100? Because as I said, mine was about a 30 and it did not feel so good, I can’t even imagine how an 80-100 one would feel!
OMG, I’m sorry I can’t give anyone a TU, I usually do to everyone who answers my questions but not since a stupid TROLL reported me for being “offensive” to them and I got my other account suspended. So I lost all my contacts, over 10,000 points, my Top Contributor badge AND apparently the ability to rate answers. =( This sucks.
has anyone else had similar experience? 10 points best answer!?

Is it normal to still pass clots 3-4 weeks after a miscarriage?
Posted by: | CommentsI found out I was pregnant on March 16th and on the 18th I had an ultrasound that showed thickening of the uterine lining but no sac. The guess was that I either had an ectopic pregnancy or that it was too early on in the pregnancy. My pregnancy test was a weak positive. On the 20th, I experienced severe cramping and passed clots. That day my pregnancy test was a strong positive. Since then, I started off passing clots that got increasingly larger until about week 2 where I started passing bright red blood. I thought the bleeding stopped at week 3, but have since begun passing small clots. Is it normal to still be bleeding for this long after a miscarriage, especially if it occurred so early on in the pregnancy? I would go to a doctor, but I don’t have health insurance and I’m completely broke.
how normal is it to feel braxton hicks contractions?
Posted by: | CommentsOn Wed. I was having braxton hicks contractionsFetal heart and uterine contraction monitor
Fetal heart monitoring
Tension headache all afternoon and into the eveningEvening primrose
Evening primrose oil. They were happening about every 10 minutes at times and would last for about 30 seconds or longer. I didn’t have any cramping sensation, just pressurePressure ulcer and I felt it all over my belly, but not really in my back. (Although on that I can’t really be sure, because I was doing alot of crocheting that day and when I do that my lower backs starts to hurt so I just figured my back ache was from that.)
They went away but yesterday afternoon for about an hour I have them off and on again.
Is it normalNormal saline flush to have them that often? Everything I have read doesn’t really say what it the norm
i am 36 weeks pregnant
7 weeks pregnant and low heart rate, weird reading from doctor?
Posted by: | CommentsHi,
I have never posted on here before, but I am reading all these inspirational stories, so I wanted to post mine hoping it will turn out to be inspirational as well.
I am 35 years old and my husband and I have been trying to conceive for about a year. Last October I had an ectopic pregnancy (it was the worst!) and this past June I had a chemical pregnancy. In August we saw a fertility specialist who suggested Clomid and then IUI.
The first round of IUI (with follistem) worked and I became pregnant.
I am now 7 weeks 1 day pregnant and on Wednesday I had my second vaginal US.
For my 6 week US everything looked good. My RE confirmed that it was in my uterus and not an ectopic. The yolk sac was seen and it was 2.5 mm – which she said was good. She said it was a good size and the sac shape was fine. She was not worried. My betas were at 6,368. No heartbeat was heard.
For my 7 week US, the news was not as good. She saw the fetal pole and it measured 5.8mm. The yolk sac was 3.8. She heard and saw the heartbeat – I was so excited! But, she said that the fetus was too far in the corner to hear it on the US. I guess it was too close to the uterine wall to read the sound wave??
The machine initially said that the heartrate was 120 and that was good. But then she said the machine was acting funny and she didn’t think it was right. She then said 105. However, she said that she didn’t trust that reading either. Then she listened with her ear…I heard nothing…and said it was most likely 90 and that she was concerned. She said that she has been doing this for 20 years and she can tell when a heart rate is too slow.
My husband turned green and almost fainted. She told me to come back in a week and to hope for the best, but expect the worst. She said 90 was not good and was really low for being 7 weeks pregnant. Bc I did IUI I know that the ovulation timing is correct and she did not misdiagnose that.
This is what really boggles my mind. My husband left the room before me. After he left, she came back in with this concerned look on her face. She said that she actually thinks the heartrate is only 60-80 and she is REALLY worried, but she didn’t want to say anything in front of my husband.
What??? Isn’t that a bit unprofessional? And I am going to a VERY reputable fertility clinic in New York City.
So, that’s the story. I am freaking out. How can the machine say 120 and the doctor say 60? That is a big difference! I am having no spotting or cramping and feel fine. I have been on progesterone suppositories for weeks now. My pregnancy has been going fine so far, hardly any sympoms, just big sore breasts, really tired, no appetite whatsoever (but not morning sickness) and nothing tastes good.
I also remembered after my visit with her that my OB once told me that I have a tilted uterus. Could this be part of the problem as well?
Pregnancy Symptoms but Negative Blood Test??? Too Early???
Posted by: | CommentsThe first day of my LMP was 11/01/08. I felt ovulation occur on 11/11. I BDed on 11/09, 11/13, 11/16 and a few other times later in my cycle. I am usually on a 26-28 day cycle. This is my third month off of the BCP (was only on it for 3 months) and my previous two cycles were regular 28 day cycles with no problems. Starting on 6 DPO and continuing thru now I have had headaches, stuffy nose (no other cold symptoms), visible blue veins (especially on breast, shoulders, hands, arms and fingers), odd cramping like AF mid cycle, creamy CM, low and soft closed cervix, indigestion, gas, sore/larger breasts, darker/larger nips, frequent urination, decreased sex drive, uterine twinges, ovary area pain, low back ache, exhaustion, vivid dreams, circulation pain (L arm and legs), hip pain, acne, slight nausea, etc. HPTs were neg. so had blood test (qualitative) done on 11/27 neg. AF due by 11/28 no show. Now 12/01 and no AF still have symptoms. Am I pregnant and I just tested too early / low HCG?
Please answer someone. I am really worried because I just remembered I had a glass of wine on the day I got the negative result and now I’m worried!!!
