Necessities for Vans Warped Tour?
ByQuestion by Blehh: Necessities for Vans Warped Tour?
Okay, so, I’m planning to go to Vans Warped Tour this year in Scranton, PA. But here’s the problem: It’s my first time going. Ever.
So I’d really appreciate it if you’d answer some questions about it for me.
1. About what time does it usually start and end? How early should me and my friends get there?
2. Should I pack a bag? If so, what should be in it?
3. I hate scene kids. Are there going to be alot of them there?
4. Is there drug and alcohol going around? Is it easy to get around them & does it interact with your enjoyment of the tour?
5. Where can I find the schedule for the times that the bands are playing?
6. Where can I find the schedule for the times that the bands are signing stuff?
7. What kind of free merchandise are the tents handing out?
8. What’s usual age of the people there?
9. I’m 14. Will people make fun of my age there?
10. I’ve been to concerts with a few mosh pits in them, but I’ve NEVER joined one. Are there going to be alot of them? It doesn’t bother me. Who knows, I might even join one(:
11. Are there like, muggers or rapists going around? Lol, I’m serious though.
12. Is it fun and worth going to?
13. Should I wear makeup to it?
14. How many people should I go with to Warped Tour?
15. What is the “Reverse Daycare”? Just curious.
16. Exactly how much money should I bring, and where should I store it?
Thanks! Sorry there’s so much questions..
I can’t wait for Warped Tour, hope to see you there!

Its my first time going this year too, so i don’t think i’ll be much help, but I know if you check out the official website they have lists of things to bring and more information.
From friends of mine that have gone, i’ve heard that it was definitely worth it if you genuinely like the bands and music. people shouldn’t make fun of your age, I’m sure there will be more 14 year olds there. You should at least bring a friend or two, but if you go in a huge group it might be a pain, agreeing on bands and stuff. And don’t bring your whiney friend who only likes a few of the bands anyway. I know the schedule will be posted in a big prominent tent, so don’t worry about that. Oh and there will be a lot of cranky scene kids, it’t just something we all have to deal with.

1. 11 – 8. get there at like 9, the line up is LONG.
2. yes. sunscreen, wallet, water bottle.
3. yeah. deal with it
4. alcohol is harder to sneak in, but there is a lot of weed smoking. you’ll find it mainly near the pits of the more hardcore bands. you breathe it in but it’s not too bad
5. there will be a HUGE blow up schedule that you can’t miss. everyone goes to it immediately at the beginning of the festival
6. at their tents.
7. demo cds, cards, flyers
8. normally 13 – 20s. last year there were some children though =/
9. no as long as you don’t flip out over every musician.
10. nearly every band has a mosh pit. even the young ones start one with poppy bands, i saw it last year with the maine. super out of place… but for bmth i can guarantee there will be a HUGE one
11. no, but do be careful of your stuff. things can get stolen easily. i’ve never had my stuff stolen, but i’m pretty careful
12. ABSOLUTELY.
13. no. you’ll be sweaty and gross
14. as many as you want! some go alone, with 1 other person, or in a huge group.
15. where the parents chill
16. as much as possible. food is expensive. keep it in bills in a money clip that you can put in your pocket. that way if you lose your bag or don’t have it on you your money will be with you at all times. you’ll also want merch and all that. but food is expensive. maps are about 3 bucks, you can get sharpies for 1 or 2 bucks, and those are necessary. food is expensive and so are drinks.
but it’s so so soso worth it.
