would you want someone to ignor you when you are asking for a basic human need?

Well….I believe it’s not abandonment if you always come back to them in the morning for cuddles and kisses. Same as leaving them with a new babysitter…..they will cry, and think that you have left them forever, but soon they will learn that you ALWAYS come back. We differ on opinion and that’s OK. You raised your kids your way, and now I will raise my kids my way

It actually makes a child just the opposite of what you describe. That’s abandonment and it develops an insecure child. I’ve seven secure adults now as proof… My spouse and I had that many children, so I wouldn’t say that we ever suffered for intimate, alone time.
) Older children will learn at a natural experienced based pace that “it’s OK to be alone”…. That is an adult mentality, not a child’s thought process.

Yes you should! Babies are smart! It’s WAY harder on the Parent then the child. In 3 nights it will be over. They will know that at 7pm it’s crib time no matter what. It’s important for Mommy and Daddy to have alone time…but it’s even MORE important for baby to know that it’s OKAY to be alone. Mommy and Daddy will be back in the morning to cuddle. Blankie or teddy bear will be there to cuddle in the night. It makes for secure children in the future…Mommy and Daddy are loving and not wimpy!

I don’t have the stomach for CIO.
