Question by Gadler Trantelfoss: Have you heard to term “moon cheese baby” applied to astronauts? If so, is it offensive socially?
Some of my friends have made comments in passing using the term moon cheese baby. I believe they are referring to astronauts and I am just not sure if this is accurate or acceptable.

The tenth quote down. I suppose it’s become some sort of cult “in-quote”. I can’t see why any astronaut would find it offensive, though they probably don’t use it on their resumes.

The ancient Greek philosophers thought the Moon was made of cheese, and they were wrong!

So moon cheese baby means wrong or bull sh*t or horse sh*t

The Moon is made of Swiss cheese. If you go to Switzerland you’ll find out from the locals.
It’s Gruyere cheese with holes in.
The holes are the craters on the Moon. All the locals know that.
Calling astronauts by funny names is just the same as using funny names for other guys.
It’s only offensive if they take offence.
Astronauts are chosen for their usefulness in a team and ability to get along together as well as for their technical skills.
Guys who take offence easy don’t stand much chance of getting chosen to share a small space doing highly technical work with other guys where they need concentration and a happy attitude, so the astronauts would probably just smile at it or even laugh and join in the joke.
Best way to go. A smile costs nothing. Does a lot of good.
My ex-mate took my garden gate….
Did you complain?
Noooo….he’d probably take a fence.
