Are Avent Pacifiers BPA free?

By pregnantnews

Does anyone know?
Bugsy, thanks!! I wonder if I can return them..I just returned a whole bunch of Avent bottles. I wonder if they’re taking Avent pacifiers too?
Johnny’s mommy, I do sterilize the pacifiers regularly so they are exposed to heat. I would think that could cause BPA to leach out.

I phoned Avent and their dummies are not BPA free. The only thing they sell that is is their Magic Cup.

Edit: The teat itself has no BPA in it but the dummy ’shield’ has BPA in them.
The only dummys with BPA free shields that I have found are MAM ‘Tiny’ and ‘Soft’ dummys.

Edit again(!): just got an email from Tommee Tippee and none of their products (inc dummies) have any BPA in them except their bottles.

depends on what its made of. If the pacifiers are made of latex or silicone then your safe, if the paci is made from plastic then probably.

The following website shows what is and isn’t BPA free from bottles to sippy cups to pacifiers

Hmmm… Not trying to be a smart butt or anything, but I thought the BPA issue was only if you heat up the bottle or whatever it is.

So I haven’t worried about pacifiers because I don’t heat them up…

Am I wrong?

Ok, just answered your question with a question, lol

I phoned Avent this morning and was told that the nipple and shield do not contain BPA but that the handle does.
