cheap bpa free bottles for breastfed baby?

By pregnantnews

any one know of cheap bpa free bottle that will be similar to the breast. i was going to go with playtex drop ins but all the liners seem like they will get expensive.
if you use the drop ins and breastfeed for the majority of the time, how long does a hundred liners last you? i will be going back to work in 6 months, husband will use stored milk to feed our baby
ill only be working like 20 hours a week

use the playtex nurser ! I’m having my fifth they are great . The cheeper bags work just as good I like them better any way . They are all bpa free . If you are going to pump The soft bags are best for freezing . I also like the natural action nipple harder to find but well worth it NO air will get in the bottle . you can order it online . 100 liners will last several months hate the drop ins They Can Leak .

If you aren’t going back to work for 6 months I would get the larger bottles with drop in’s (or any larger bottle 7-8oz).

Your husband probably won’t be doing more than 2 feedings during that time frame, maybe only one. So to get an estimate 2 drop in’s/day multiplied by the number of days you will work. Then you can get an idea of whether or not it will be expensive for you.

Another option is a glass bottle, there are quite a few, I like Dr. Brown’s. The first bottle may be expensive but you only need one, maybe 2 just in case. With my niece I have only used one bottle at a time, this way with the 3 pack I bought I can replace them after a couple of months and not have to buy more for awhile.

I dont breatfeed now , but I did and I used and still do the Playtex Drop ins, and I dont buy the Playtex Liners I get the target brand one, same exact things and they are $2 cheaper, and the big box has 100 where the playtex liners go up to 50. But they are great cus you can get all the air out.

You can reuse a liner once if you clean it out right after use and make sure to use it within the same day. If you do this a box of 100 can last you a long time. It depends on how many bottles you give your baby a day. If there are only say 2 bottle feedings a day, it can last you 100 days. I love how you always know they are sterile and are only responsible for keeping the nipple clean. They have some of the best nipples too. I love their latex nipples. If your baby has no latex allergy latex is much better than silicone for imitating a mother’s nipple. I have only been able to find latex in the platex nipples. Honestly, the liners are hardly any expense if you are breastfeeding most of the time, and the benefits of the dropins outweigh the drawbacks. I even think they are easier than regualr bottles because you don’t have to clean the bottle itself. You can also make sure that ALL of the air is out of the bottle, reducing colic. My first never had gas issues after switching to the dropins.

Edit: I just thought I’d add… if you are storing in breastmilk storage bags, you can actually use the bags as liners. That would make things even simpler.

If you decide not to use the playtex, the only recomendation I have is DONT get the Adiri nursers. They are not worth the money. I bought 2, used 1 once and I’m returning the 2nd… they are horrible.

Not sure where you live but I am in Canada, and I had to go to Wal-MArt for my BPA free bottles. We had to switch ours because were using bottles with BPA in them. We switched to Nuby bottles. They are very cheap and my baby adjusted to them right away. They are leak free. You buy three in a pack, I think I paid maybe 10 bucks, if that. They are 10 oz bottles, Nuby is all BPA free!!!

it all depends on how many bottles you little one drinks..

my little one has 3 bottles a day so a box of 100 at 7 bucks so they can last me about 5 weeks..

i love the playtex drop ins…
i want to BF my next baby but when i need to give them a bottle i will be going with the playtex bottles again..
