Good BPA free bottles.?
ByMy daugther is now 7 months old. She has been on the platex drop in bottles due to the BPA issues. She has trouble wtih plain bottles that the nipple colapses on. Does anyone know of any good BPA bottles that the nipple does not colapse on. How about the Gerber gentle flow? Thanks

We have a child in the infant room I work in on Gerber gentle flow and the nipples always collapse – he doesn’t even suck that hard on them. I use drop-ins and never have a problem with the nipples unless I get too much air out of the bag and it kind of creates sort of a vaccum.

I use platex drop ins and have never had that problem. I throw away the nipples that come with the bottle and buy the silicone high flow ones though. Nuk makes a bottle similar to the platex one as well as advent. They are all BPA free. In Canada they are sold at Superstore and Walmart.

Why not keep using the drop ins? I bought Emma new bottles at seven months and I just bought the cheap Evenflo ones after being on Dr. Brown’s and she collapses the fastest flow nipple. I guess she was used to not getting any air at all. Anyways I had to cross cut the nipples.

i too switched to drop ins but now he’s mostly off the bottle (he’s 8 months) . he does take one bottle before bed. otherwise he uses the thinkbaby and bornfree trainer cups. they work great. At this point I wouldnt get new bottles i’d try a sippy. both the think baby and the born free work well for babies just starting out on a cup because the spout is silicone. I like both but the thinkbaby does leak just a bit so i would probably go with the bornfree if i was you. They dont leak and work so well and are bpa free.

I use the Mam Ultivent bottles from Target.com…the nipple is shaped in a very unique manner that is apparently similar to milk being stripped from a breast (you’d really have to see the pic to understand it) and there is a vent at the bottom of the bottle to prevent a vaccum. My son has never had any problems with them. It’s kind of pain that there are 6 parts to each bottle, but I’m so pleased with them that that is incidental. And they were relatively cheap compared to some of the other bpa-free bottles, $13.99 for 3.
