How important is it to have a BPA free baby bottle? What are the risks associated with BPA?

The risks are that if you warm the bottle in a microwave, the particle emissions that it gives off mimic esterogens and these can be very harmful to the development of a young child. If you warm the bottle in warm tap water (without the super-agitation caused by microwaves) there is no problem.

I freaked out when I heard about BPA but my daughter wont drink out of anything except the playtex ones, as long as you don’t warm it to much ( I leave mine room temp just to make sure )

Here’s a great link put out by the CDC. The FDA just put out a statement dated in June that BPA doesn’t appear to be worrisome although they are continuing to research. Canada has asked for voluntary removal.

that is still not certain…just dont heat the bottles and it does not matter what the risks (if any) are.
keep bottled water at room temp and prepare as needed, it so much easier!

Honestly, I never really cared about this topic…how many babies have used these bottles and are fine?? MILLIONS!!
There are more important things to worry about…
