How many of you use BPA free bottles?
ByJust wondering how many moms use BPA free bottles? I use the Dr. Browns bottles that are BPA free and people tell me that I’m crazy for wasting my money on them that we were all raised on BPA bottles and we are just fine. Just wondering if you use BPA free? or Why don’t you use BPA free?

Yea, and I was raised without a car seat and I turned out just fine too… guess we’re all wasting money buying those car seats.

I get the same thing too. People tell me not to worry and it’s just a way to make money. I would rather be on the safe side and spend a little more money. I use the BornFree glass bottles. It’s a pain to clean but we love it!

I happen to have BPA free drop-ins, but I’m not gonna freak out over some BPA that isn’t even activated to toxic levels until the bottles are microwaved. It’s like using Teflon pans to me. We get worse chemicals from elsewhere is how I see it.
But nonetheless, I love my Playtex Drop-Ins system and have no need at this time to change bottles. My daughter loves the nipples because it compares best to the breast (which she loves the most).
There is a bottle from The First Years I plan to buy one of and try it. It is supposed to mimic the breast flow and they are not BPA free. I’d like to buy one and see how my daughter handles it, and if she really likes it we’ll switch, but it depends on her choice.

The first rule of parenting is no matter what decision you make on any issue there are people who will tell you it’s wrong. No matter what others tell you or what people say here you need to go with what your gut tells you is right for your child.
On that specific issue when we give a bottle I use Bjorn Free Glass which is BPA free. I think at this point there is enough evidence of risk it’s not worth taking. Just cause lots of people are fine does not mean everyone was fine or will be.

I do! We using Dr. Browns BPA free bottles and love it. It’s important to me as I always use microwave to warm up the water for formula. And nobody I know who has child is telling me that I am wasting my money. And if somebody will, well I don’t Think spending few more dollars matters when it comes to potential harm for your baby. Plus it’s not that you are buying those bottles every day or every week, once you got them will last until you don’t need them anymore.

Yep, and sippy cups. Actually, when the recall happened we threw out ALL of our plastic kiddy dishes and bought new ones.
Sounds paranoid I know, but the day after that happened we ended up in emerg with my daughter, and I asked my ped. She said she was replacing all of her things for her kids. In my opinion, if my doc is doing it, so should I!

I do. I started with Avent bottles.. when I heard about the whole BPA thing I went and bought Avent BPA free bottles. Yeah, maybe people used them for years and years… but why take the chance? I mean, people have cancer… fertility problems.. how do they know it didn’t have something to do with that.

i am so tired of hearing that too.
The FDA’s study on BPA was funded by the plastics industry and its just been found that their studies were flawed.

As far as everyone being raised on BPA; the amount has increased each generation as more pre-packaged food for convienience is introduced. Did you know that BPA is also in formula cans and regular canned foods?
each generation is exposed to more and more chemicals.

We use a few different BPA free bottles brands I woundn’t take a chance using polycarbonate bottles. ” We were all raised on BPA “well Bpa have been linked to heart disease, diabetes , liver failure ,decreased sperm counts and reduced fertility ,cancer and hyperactivity with a lot of these on the rise is it all Coincidence. And for the people that think “The whole BPA thing is just to make money”
Why did Canada deem BAP as toxic it cost all our stores a lot of money because they gave so many refund and exchanges and they didn’t get any money back because the manufactures didn’t issue a recall avent and playtex also spent quite a bit sending us free samples of ttheir bpa free products.
Bpa dose not only leech when heated to high temperatures but also with warm liqueds pored in to the bottle and room temperature bottles butleechingching is higher with hitemperaturestuers
