Is BPA in baby bottles and children’s sippy cups only dangerous when microwaved?
ByI know there is still BPA in a lot of common plastic goods and I was just wondering if it’s only dangerous when microwaved? What about when it’s boiled or placed in extreme heat?

Anytime you expose plastic with BPA in it to heat (dishwasher, pot of warm water, etc) you are releasing the BPA. There’s nothing special about microwave heat that makes it dangerous. BPA mimics one of the body’s hormones and has been shown to cause adverse effects in mice. While most humans (adults too) have trace amounts in their urine, the safe level tolerable for humans is currently disputed, and there are absolutely no studies on babies to show what a safe level of BPA would be for them. So keep your baby away from any plastic with BPA that is exposed to heat.
You can usually recognize it because it has a 3 or 7 in the recycling triangle
